Spinny now or not spinny? I loved the spins but a while back people were talking about it being changed so the cars don't spin. Is that still true or did they put the spins back in?

I hadn't heard that they change it.

But I do know there was always the option of it not spinning. My in-laws rode it not spinning in 2003. The can make individual cars spin or not.

I hope they haven't changed it for everyone...I rather liked the spinning.

I believe the spins are back in but its not a bad as before.

The attraction was changed when an incident happened and a small boy...who should have been watched by the parents...came out of the car. He was not injured...luckily.

It spins. Was caught off guard with the first spin - didn't expect it and slid right across the seat. This was Memorial Day weekend.

When did this happen? I feel like it was different when I rode in September but wasn't sure if I was just crazy.

NVM I think I found it. May of last year?

I believe it still spins a lot. I asked the attendant at the entrance, because I can't do spins, and he said "yes, it spins a lot". My DH asked, "Like the teacups?" he responded, "Almost".

spinny AND jerky... woe unto you if you have a tot who insists on riding it again and again.

The Cat and the Hat ride surprised all of us ~ we actually thought it WORSE than FJ (stop laughing, I'm serious). We sort of all walked on like "oh, how cute" and came off green. I thought my husband was going to lose his lunch. I don't like spins though, just thought this was going to be a cute little ride along thing. NOT!

Yup it spins in February my husband took our two toddlers on the ride while I waited with the baby. When they got off my DS said I had to go on it and DH told me to "hold onto Rachel"... The kids knew what to expect and I didn't. Thankfully it was NOT packed & on that first spin the kids laughed and I cursed..... Not one of the proudest moments. But I totally then understood why the worker at the front door said our 3 month old couldn't ride!

Remember when that happened on MiB during their soft opening? Although I heard two versions on the news at the time, one was he fell out, the other was he jumped out. Either way, they had to shut it down and install seat belts before the official opening.

We went to IOA last week, after not visiting the park in about 4 years. We thought the Cat in the Hat spun worse now than in the past. My kids love all rides, and both got off of Cat in the Hat, and said never again.

Is a non spinning car still an option? I don't have a problem w/ the spins but my aunt does and I know she'd like to ride if that were an option.

Thanks!

Yeah...I remember that as well. I vaguely remember MIB before the changes but the problem with CiTH is the seats are very wide and slippery. Children MUST be seated on the inside of the vehicle and lots of parents don't think its a big deal to let them sit on the outside until something bad happens. Every time I go to Disney and see children sitting on the outside of the trams I get mad. Sure the trams now have doors but that's not a fix all for reducing injuries. Adults need to watch over their children and obey all rules and regulations.

It was spinning when we were there 2 weeks ago. This was my son's favorite ride, so we had to ride it 3 times.
