Cat. 9, Deck 2 Noise?

We are going on our 3rd DCL cruise next summer. We have always gotten Cat. 6, Deck 7 midship. This time, the fare for the 7-Night Western was a little more than we could afford for the same room, plus we figured that the veranda was not worth an extra $1200. So, we got a Cat. 9 room midship. Is there any noise problems on the lower decks? According to the deck plans, we are under the lobby/Lumiere's.

We have stayed on deck 2 catagory 9 for our 2 Disney cruises, and loved it. You don't have to use the elevators to get to and from the restraunts, you are close to the exits for shore excursions, only two decks from the Walt Disney theater. So, there is very little annoying waits for the elevators (aka kids playing).

There was no noise at all where we stayed last year (Room 2566). It was great! You will love it!

I goy this off one of the boards about the crusie. The noice rooms are as follows

2000 2004 2032 2036 2047 2078 2085 2094 2096 2114 2129 2139 2153 2500 2520 2534 2547 2586 2600 2626 2630 2653 1030 1037 1064

This might be a silly question, but what makes these rooms the "noise" rooms? My stateroom is 5 doors down from one of the ones on your list. How can one room be "noisy", but the one next door is not? Did the post say what the criteria was?

Just my 2 cents worth....have stayed on Deck 2 twice in a Cat. 9 and a 10 and loved it both times! Best of luck to you and have a great time!:)

We stay in room 2072 and it was super, would stay on deck 2 anytime.

We just stayed in cabins 2550 and 2552 on the 1/4/03 Magic. They were pretty much mid-ship right under shore excursion desk and the atrium. We loved the location and convenience of being on Deck 2. We had absolutely no noise at all!!

Ryan....I didn't even realize it was you I was replying to until after I read your PM!!!!

Some people said those "noisy" rooms were due to noise from above, noise from a crew area, engine noise, etc. Some people experience no noise in those cabins so it is hit or miss. As Dave says at his site "your mileage will vary".

Our cabins were great!!!

No problem, MJ! :)

Which one is Dave's site? Is that the Magical Disney Cruise FAQ, or www.castawayclub.com?

The Missus and I thought that our cruise in 2002 would be our last for quite some time, but that Western cruise was too good to pass up!

I stayed on Deck 2 Catagory 12. We were under Rockin D I think. We really had no noise problems. Bow section 2017.

Hi,
We just got off the Magic. Our rooms were 2534,2532,2530,2528,2526,2524. The first four were what I would call noisy. The last two didn't seem to hear any noise that the rest of us heard. Now 2534 and 2532,2530 were the worse. The noise was late at night and it sounded like someone was dropping and rolling something big and heavy. It lasted about a hour. Now was it bad enough for us to call and complain? No, we just mention it to each other.Would I stay it those rooms again. Yes, we loved the location. If I had small children maybe I would look for somewhere else. When you wake a small child theirs a good chance they won't just go back to sleep.
