Can anyone tell me why you should pay more for a category 5 room? Is it that much better to be in a Cat 5. There were no Cat 6's left so I had to book a Cat 5. Please tell me it is worth at least a little more $$$. Thanks!

Umm, well actually no, it is not worth any extra, but if it's the only way you can get a deluxe stateroom with verandah then it's worth it....to be on the ship. :)

The only difference at all is the Cat. 5s are on Deck 7 and the Cat. 6s are on Decks 6 and 5. The reason the Cat. 6s are gone is because they are a better value than the Cat. 5s. The difference in deck is really no difference at all in your enjoyment of the cruise.

Enjoy! :)

Well, actually, some of us do book Cat. 5s on purpose. I am sensitive to noise and have found on two cruises that deck 7 is very quiet, having only staterooms above and below. The difference in price was well worth it to us.

We've had both cat 5 and cat 6 and didn't notice any difference at all. The cabins are exactly the same.

I do agree with ucralum that deck 7 is more quiet than deck 6.

Either way, they are both great cabins and make for a magical cruise!

We have a Cat 6 room directly over the theater. should we expect this to be noisy.

You shouldn't hear any noise from the theater at all.
Personally, I am a big fan of Cat. 6 because I like to be as close to the water as possible. There are noisy rooms and quiet rooms in every category. Personally, my favorite stateroom on the ship is a Cat. 6 (5650) and I'd take it over a Cat. 5 any day. It is in the butt end of the ship, with hardly any other staterooms around, so the hallway noise is virtually non-existent. We had it on our last 7-day (as well as several 3-days) and it is soooo peaceful for those times when I want to sleep in or hit the hay early.

We are going on the 11/2/2002 7 day Eastern cruise with our Disney club. We have 40 rooms booked for our group which include 3 category 5 rooms and 22 category 6 rooms. As was stated before, the rooms are identical only the deck is different.
If you can get a category 6 room then I would probably take it but if you can't , the category 5 rooms are terrific and the difference in price would only be about $200 for your family. In either event these rooms are great and you will enjoy either.

We had Cat 6 and we didn't hear a bit of noise--loved it-I love Cat 6 also-
