Anyone have opinions on the difference? The website says the cat 5 is 50 square feet bigger, but is that really noticeable?

We are looking at 3A1C for 7 days.

Knowing which specific room in each category help when comparing sizes. For example, 5e is aft, and has the large balcony not seen in the other Cat 5 rooms (which are more expensive). The 4e is the exposed oversized balcony on the side of the ships, again can be more expensive than other category 4 rooms, with the exception of 4a, which can sleep 5.

If you have 3 adult adults and not just Disney classified adults, you may want as much space as possible in the cabins if you think you need it.

Thank you! That is what I was leaning towards.

I can definitely tell the difference between the two rooms. It is pretty much only the width of the twin murphy bed but it includes a lot more storage space since the cabinet extends that extra difference as well (or on the classic ships, there was an additional storage cabinet/chest). We have always done Cat 4s when it was 2A, 2C just for the extra room.

That being said, for our Alaska cruise next year I was in a Cat 5 sized room since just me and the kids were going, but when my DH decided to join us, rather than move to a Cat 4 for the extra space (we are now 3A, 1C), we opted to book a cat 11 across the hall instead and put my DS and DH in that room. That gives us extra room, two bathrooms, etc and actually came out cheaper than all of us in 1 Cat 4.

Yes, this is the other option we are exploring. It's so hard to know how much difference the second bathroom might make.
