When we take our next cruise our DD's will be 3 and 5. We originally hoped to get a cat 3 room. Now we are thinking that if we stayed in say a cat 6, we could take another vacation some point during the year. We will be taking a cruise over Christmas so I would think that it would be impossible to upgrade at the port. Would you feel comfortable with a 5 year-old sleeping in the murphy bed, don't they fold down from above the sofa? Should we go with a cat 4? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

A Cat. 6 would be FINE! :) The top bunk comes down over the sofa single bed and it has bed rails, your 5-year-old will love it. :)

Thanks for the response! Has anyone else been in this situation that has an opinion? Michelle I think we will take your advice, I would just love to hear what others have to say.

When we went on our first Disney cruise in 2001, my nephew slept on the pull down bed when he was only 4. He had no problems with it at all. There really isn't anywhere for them to fall from with the bedrails and he thought it was great fun.

If you really don't want your 5 year old in the upper bed, they are both likely small enough to share the lower berth.
