We'll be staying in a Cat 2 for the first time and I was told that we'd be able to order from Palo for in-room dining. Has anyone done this? Do you pay the $10 per person dining fee?

Giving this a bump because I'm also curious. My kids would love to be able to enjoy a Palo meal in our suite with us but I'm afraid to tell them it's possible because I have no idea how this perk works. Are you limited to what you order each night or how many nights you order? Can we get souffle? I've seen someone post that they ordered pizza from Palo before their regular dinner but I've never seen a post with someone mentioning getting full meal and how it worked. Has anyone ordered a meal in their cat 1 or cat 2 from Palo?

Ordering from Palo is easy for concierge guests.

We have stayed cat 3 twice, cat 1 last year, and we have the Walt suite this year! :cool1:

The only rule is that you need to order during the regular hours. In other words, when they're serving brunch, you can order from the brunch menu. At night, you can order from the dinner menu. I don't know what limits they put on the number of orders you can place; probably relates to the number of registered guests in your suite. And yes, you can order souffle!!

You pay the regular $10 per person, plus gratuity. Go for it!! :teeth:

Hint: Make sure you hit the CONCIERGE button on your phone, NOT room service! Big difference!!

Thanks, Beano. Do you order just Palo room service through concierge or all room service? TIA

Order ALL room service through concierge. I can't stress enough how much difference this makes. I ordered 6 bottled waters from concierge; they brought me a case! No charge.

Try that with regular room service and you WILL be billed for them. There is a reason why you pay for concierge service in the first place... use it!!

We have had custom designed cakes, large food spreads, ice chests, cases of beer, etc. brought to our suites in past years. Why? 'Cuz we asked for it!! The only thing I had to pay for was the beer.

Get your $$'s worth, folks! You pay for cat 1,2 or 3, you're entitled. :) Ask ask ask!!

Take a look at the food spread they brought us (free of charge) for our DIS party last year!

Beano, Does this apply to being in the cat 3 suites? It was suggested to me that you don't get the perks with cat 3 like with one or two. This was from DCL. They couldn't state with certainty. Specifically, have you stayed cat 3 and ordered Palo? I will be going on the Magic in 10 days for the repo cruise. I have a mid ship cat 3. Despite a number of calls , they haven't been able to define the differences or tell me for sure what cat 3 perks are.

3DAN: In the cat 3 the menu for Palo isn't in the packet they give you filled with all the dining room menus. We never tried but I asked here and was told that the Palo perk was only available in cat 1 or cat 2. I never did trying asking the concierge.

Beano: Thank you so much for answering my question. I would never have thought to order through concierge and couldn't figure out how Palo could accomodate inroom service. My kids are going to be really excited.
