castle show band

hi!! i just read about the castle show with the disney band.... looking at touringplan's schedule they mention the show with characters is at 11 am. can anyone confirm this?? i have a ressie at plaza inn at 10 am, so i want to reschedule to fit the band show....

also, is tinkerbell having a huge wait at 9 am?? (i know trying to fit all the characters..)

and any info about ranch jamboree is appreciated.. can't find any on the disney blog

Castle Show at 11 was awesome. We made it just in time after a 9:00 am Goofy's Kitchen breakfast. The Pixie Hallow wait times were long the entire time we were there. In five days, we never found a good time to go in. We ended up skipping it since my girls have met Tink at Disney World.

The Jamboree was a great place to meet characters. We saw Thumper, Minnie Mouse, Roger Rabbitt, Daisy.....couple others that I can't remember. We hung out there a while and relaxed while the kids got there photos. Lines were not too long when we were there.

11am for the castle band sounds about right. I stumbled upon it when I tried to have lunch at Plaza Inn around that time and was told they don't open until noon. D'oh.

The castle band is really cute with all the characters dancing in front of castle and Mickey in his band uniform. Then they all ride off on an old fire engine. Very sweet

In recent weeks, it's gotten more interesting. I see from the May 9-15 YKttM that there were three times listed for the five days the Disneyland Park appeared. By June 13-19 - on Sun, Mon, and Thu - a fourth appearance was scheduled..

Now, when is the castle show on July 14?

Given that the ":55" time has been the castle show, 10:55 is probable, but it's not the second appearance. If the entrance show is at 9, what is scheduled at 10?

this is what touring plans has posted. if anyone is in the parks now and has a times guide in hand, we could have a more accurate answer!

Touring Tips

The showtimes are listed in the Times Guide, and if you're a fan of marching bands, we definitely recommend seeing the Disneyland Band on your second or third day in the park.

The 10:00 a.m. show is usually in front of the Mickey Floral, facing the the turnstiles. The Band performs songs from classic Disney films.

The 11:00 a.m. castle show is our favorite. It begins in the castle forecourt with band leader, Mickey, and various other characters, including Chip, Dale, Pinocchio, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Alice and The Mad Hatter.

There's nothing in the paper guide or on the Disneyland web site that will answer the question "When is the castle show?" , because both only list appearances, not specific shows.

So, you're at least partially kept in the dark, just like about the Royal Theatre, which, bizarrely. IMHO, is not listed under "Shows" on the web site. You have to read the sign at the entrance to know what show is being performed at the times listed in YKttM.


update: Huh ... the June 13-19 guide does not have "YOUR KEY TO THE MAGIC" printed at the top

Last July the castle show was at 10am. We did the Discover the Magic tour that started at 10am and as we set off on the tour we saw the characters in a car coming down mainstreet.

Um ... I think some shows are getting mixed up ... think ... as posted elsewhere, in addition to the Saturday Afternoon Massacre, there were other changes in character performances.

The firehouse show has featured Cruella, Chip, and Dale. As I wrote before, they were in the entrance show in place of Alice & Hatter on the 14th

Mary Poppins and Bert appear in the castle forecourt with the Pearly Band - at 1 and 2 on the 14th, so ...

The full Band also performs a set at the Main Gate that could include Alice and Hatter and any other number of characters depending on the day.

With Character denotes that characters should be appearing at some point during that performance (Chip Dale Goofy and Cruella with the Hook and Ladder, Mickey Minnie Pluto and Donald with the Hatters, and Mary and Bert with the Pearlys). Monkeydishwasher do you have any info about the ranch jamboree? the oficial blog hasn't mention the summer roundup.. i read somewhere it might not be there this summer... :'(

It's probably not happening from what I've heard from some entertainment friends. Unless they decide to do a surprise day of thing like they did with the 7 Dwarfs today... But the Roundup probably won't be back until the fall season.

I use an free apple app called Disneyland Park Hours.

It lists most show times, I have been using for over a year and found it to be pretty accurate.
