Castle Rehab

My MK Shoot is on the 8th December :sad2: really hope whatever they do wont affect it.

I'll email my EM and check with her as i was told that they would not be removing all the decos! :confused3

It's always very possible that the rumor on the theme parks board is incorrect.

I would suggest you talk to your EM as soon as you can to figure out how you would like to proceed.

NOOOOO, My MK Photo shoot is on Dec 24, 2006. I can't imagine Disney having any ugly crane around during Christmas time, their busiest season!!!!

I'm sure whatever renovations they are completing will be done in a tasteful way that won't ruin the overall look of the castle . . . . .I hope :guilty:

I was also told that the decorations would be up until the end of December

It is true. Disney photography notified me. I was told the rehab starts 9/10 and will be complete 10/10. They said small cranes will be used only when park is closed and will not be out during photo shoots. One large crane will be out at all times.

I am considering no MK Photo Shoot now.

Guys I'm going to sound like a grump, but this is important and I've learned it through personal experience...Disney photography and DFTW representatives get really ticked off when they get a lot of brides calling in hysterics over photo shoots and other what not when rumors are spread all over the DIS. TRUST DFTW, they WILL notify you personally if anything could affect what you have scheduled. No news is good news.

Very true - we're October and it's happening for us, confirmed by our WP.

Everybody before panicking, read this. You have a year from your wedding (or so I've heard) to actually do your photo shoot! So you may have to come back for the shoot to get the unonstructed view of the castle, but to me it would be worth it. And it's an easy way to come back for a short visit to hold you over in terms of the disney addiction. I really hope this helps you guys. Good luck!!!

I have a friend that hed her photo shoot during the initial Castle decorating time and it turned out fine. There were some cranes there when they took the photos but Disney was able to "photoshop" them out and/or use a stock photo of the castle placed in the backgound. Disney called her to let her know about this.

We were told that all of the 50th anniversary decorations would be down by the beginning of October. We asked because we were visiting Disneyland and wanted to see the decorations, so we moved our trip up to May from October.

There were cranes in front of the castle during our MK photo shoot. They were taking down Grad Nite decorations. It was Photoshop'd out successfully.

You can see our pics here: MK Pics

Our Magic Kingdom Photos (see link in signature) were taken with the grad night lighting scaffolding on May 2. Disney did a great job of photoshopping the scaffolding out of the pictures. I will try to find and post the picture of the scaffolding so you can see how well they did!
