I read that the Castle Wedding Picture Session takes place at 6am. I am NOT enough of a morning person to be able to get up at 3am to get my hair and makeup done, go do that, get married, have a reception, etc. :rotfl: Is this something that HAS to be done the DAY OF your wedding?? I know they also offer the Honeymoon pics (NOT in your wedding clothes) so I suppose that's an option...

We did our MK photos 2 days after the wedding. I wish we had done them later in the week after all our guests left and we were able to get a good nights sleep before hand! It was really hard to get up for, but the experience of being in MK without anyone else around was totally worth it!

If you do it after your wedding can you still go in your wedding clothes? Wouldn't it be bad luck to see each other before the wedding? I mean, the pictures would be worth it.. hahaha but I would rather do it later in the week! Is that possible?

Also, does anyone have any pics from their castle wedding picture session that they can post? I would love to see them!

That was what I was wondering...if you do it after can you still go in your wedding attire?

Did you get the cosmo service (again?) for that?? How much does it cost for them to do your hair and makeup anyways??'

I'm ready teacher(s)... :teacher:

Yes, you can do the MK photo session in your bridal attire if you do it on a morning after your wedding. If you do it the morning of your wedding it will count towards your minimums for the day (for a custom wedding), and you'll save the expense of having Disney cosmo come to do your hair again.

I personally didn't think it was bad luck to see DH before the wedding. It was the best decision we made!

Lol...I don't care about seeing John before the wedding...lol. I just worry about having to get up SO EARLY for hair and makeup and getting there on time...and then not being able to go to sleep until LATE since we are having an Illuminations Dessert Party.

How much was the magic kingdom photo session anyways?

The cost has gone up since our wedding. I think its now around $800, and Hair & Makeup now costs $200. One of the brides who is currently planning can confirm the prices.

We're doing ours on the 18th - our guests fly home on the 17th so hopefully we'll get a good night's sleep - i'm not too worried abou the early start but my DH2B will be like a bear with a sore head!

Can't remember how much but it is around $800 - and I know cosmetology is $200 for the early start - but I was thinking of doing my hair and make up myself. Won't be the same as for the wedding pics but I kinda like the idea.

Then again - I know how annoyed I get when my hair won't go right and I don't want to ruin the photos... hmm maybe I'll book them... although we've moved off site by then so they may not come out to me!! Help!?!?!?

I can't wait for the session - I figure we can't get married at Disney and not have photos of us and the castle :0)

That was my thought exactly. How can I get married there and NOT get the castle pics?? Not gonna happen. I guess I'll fork over the extra money and have them come out to fix me up...again. Lol.

You sound like me going around and around with stuff. :rotfl2:

We were married on Saturday, 20 March, and we had our MK session on Monday, 22 March. As long as you are a Disney FTW couple, you can come back and have the MK session in your bridal wear whenever you want, even your 20th anniversary. The MK session is completely minited to FTW couples only, tho, they no longer allow Swan, Celebration, etc. couples to have these photo sessions.

As far as Disney cosmo when you are staying off site, perhaps you can talk to your EM and ask if you can use a "getting ready" room in one of the convention centers, just as you would for your wedding day, to have Disney cosmo meet you and get your hair and make-up done. Talk it over with them and see what they say.

I had myself convinced that it wasn't worth it to get up that early to get pictures taken at mk but you guys are changing my mind. It is such a neat idea, but so very early. It seems like there isn't enough makeup or photoshoping that could make pictures of me taken at 6:00 AM look good.

Has anyone ever done had the phote session in your regular clothes instead of your wedding stuff?

I think if you want to go in regular clothes you can do a honeymoon shoot which I believe is before 11.30am - much more sociable hours - I know you can do it at Epcot but not sure about MK. Of course the park will be open so you'll have Joe Public in your pictures.

Any reason why you don't want to wear your dress in the photos? I'm determined to get my money's worth! And want my princess dress on in front of the castle :0)

I'm so not a makeup, done up hair, fancy dress person. Deep down I want to be, but the reality is that I'm a t-shirt, jeans with my hair in a pony tail kind of person. I want to be a princess on my wedding day and I will be, and I know in my heart that the MK photo session would be worth every penny, but to get the makeup and the hair done again and put the dress back on at such an early hour.

I had completely written off the idea of doing the MK photo session, BUT you guys have really made me rethink it.

you can set up what day you want your session and at what time. we had our session at 5 AM two days after. hair and make up showed up at 4. i'm not a morning person either but the session is definitely worth waking up so early in the morning for.

We are going to try and schedule for the day of. Neither of us is a morning person, but we are going to have a morning wedding in Epcot so it make sense. The bonus is that I only have to have my hair done once, and all of it counts toward the mins. I can't wait!!!

If you're having a morning ceremony that sounds like a great plan. Ours isn't until the afternoon and the day would just be way too long!

Does mean he'll see you in your dress before the ceremony though, although someone else on the forum did the same thing and the photographer set it up so they still had a "reveal" situation...

I was starting to think I made that up! hahaha I really thought I just dreamed up s superstition (which I wouldn't doubt)

Does anyone know if you can take a few of the pictures in other places besides the castle? I think a picture in front of Splash Mountain would be SO fun because that is our favorite ride! :teeth:

I believe, though I'm not sure, that the MK session is just with the castle and with the Merry go Round.

I'm thinking we'll do it a couple days after. I'd like to do it the day of because of the minimum...but we are having an evening ceremony so I do NOT want to be up that early the day of. Lol.

I am not sure how the reveal would work. Since Disney will not be doing my wedding photography....anyone know?
