Does anyone reacall how much the Cinderella Castle Playset retails for in the parks? Is there anyone that can comment on the quality/size of pieces and age appropriate?

Thanks!
Blakely

I *think* we paid $69.99 for it this past summer. My kids LOVE it. It comes with quite a few characters and my kids had a few other disney playsets so they use the characters from those as well. This is one of the few toys that all 3 of my kids play with (they are 7, 4-1/2, and just turned 2).

The quality is nothing great, however. One of the castle doors is constantly falling off and so is one of the spires. But, I don't regret the purchase at all because they play with it so much. Plus, I like looking at it, lol! It sits proudly on my coffee table and the pieces are in a basket underneath the table. :goodvibes I have a feeling that it will live there long after my kids are done playing with it.

ETA: As far as the size of the pieces, there are some small pieces like the glass slipper that are tiny and could definitely be a choking hazard if you have a kid who likes to put things in his/her mouth. The figures are probably about 2 inches tall.

I just ordered it from WDW Merchandising. The price was $69.99 plus $15 (I think) for my DD7 for Christmas. They were backordered when I called but said they were getting a big shippment in. I hope it gets here by the 25th. These things are being sold on e-bay for much more than the price plus shipping. So, I thought I'd take my chances this way.

Thanks everyone. I think it will make a great gift for my DD2 next year. My husband was just down at WDW (lucky Devil) for a business trip (left the hotel 2x to eat at the same place--Flying Fish-2x!) and checked the Boardwalk shop (can't remember the name) for the set and the staff said they were sold out, it was a very popular item, and he doubted anyone else on property would have one. He said they were back-ordered. I'll just have to wait...got lots of time since DD b'day isn't 'till October!

Happy Holidays! :sunny:

We got it for our girls when we went down in August..they LOVE it and play with it all the time..i will agree the quality is not great, but it s really cute and did come with a lot of characters (which go into a large ziploc bag after they are done playing..lol). When we were just there last week we saw them all over WDW.

I brought one back last Christmas for dd4. PP have already told the price. I will comment on the quality. The plastic is weak, thin plastic -- NOT strong like Little Tykes stuff. Not even as tough as Barbies stuff. I was so bummed on Christmas morning when we got it all out of its box. Several of the pieces broke very easily -- the Coach swings open on hinges and the hinges snapped. Other parts of our castle have white lines where it looks like the plastic is weakening. When dd is playing with the castle, the plastic makes creaking sounds. Just horrible cheap plastic. DD rarely plays with it, luckily, so it is pretty much all still together.

I don't know if TRU's castle is better (I think they carry one as well), but it cannot be worse.

My DS feel in love with the castle when we were there last month. I told him it was too big to take on the plane, so we couldn't buy it. Well, I had it shipped home, so he will get it on Christmas morning. I can't comment on the quality yet, but I do agree with the price. Also, I did pay 15.00 to ship it home, but I didn't have to pay any sales tax. The total price was 84.00.

We did buy the pirate ship set that sells for 40.00. He played with it at the resort and still plays with it at home. Some of the smaller pieces have broken off of the ship already, but I figured that would happen.

My parents bought it for our kids when we were there in January and both of them love it! We have had no problems with anything breaking and our kids are 2 and 5. They play with it a lot along with the monorail and we have had no trouble at all.
