I'm trying to decide where to go for my birthday dinner. It's going to be our last night in WDW, and I'd like to spend it at MK.

Right now I have PS's for LTT, but I think I might want to switch to the castle. We have several other character meals planned.

One of the reasons I didn't originally make the PS for the castle is because I didn't see anything on the menu that my 13 year-old ds would particularly enjoy. Do you think that they would let him order from the kids' menu?

Which restaurant would you choose for dinner?

Thanks in advance!

Beth

i would think they would allow him to order off the children's menu. adults have asked for the children's menu at restaurants there at wdw. should not be a problem. happy birthday!

Thanks for that information! That will be a huge help to us at some of the other restaurants, too. He is a bit picky.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, too. With this great trip planned, turning 40 is painless! I am so excited!

Anyone have preference of dinner choice between Cindy's and LTT?

Beth

Sorry, but I would have to say Crystal Palace! And, NOT for the character interaction! The food at the castle is ok, and I hear so-so things about LT, but the food at the CP was outstanding! I was so surprised during our Dec. 03 trip! We are even going back next week, and I can't wait!

Wherever you go, have a great birthday! :jester:

Thanks for the CP recommendation. We are eating there two days before for my son's 5th birthday. Also for this trip we have PS's for:

50's Prime Time Cafe
'Ohana
Chef Mickey's
Ice Cream Social at the Garden Grill

I know that I will be happy no matter where in the MK I am !!!
Thanks!

Beth

You're right...you'll have fun anywhere at Disney!

Have you been to 50's PTC before? We weren't that thrilled about it. We took our 2yo dd to SciFi last Dec. and we all enjoyed it! Just ordered burgers and dessert and it was good. The atmosphere is definitely the best for little ones. Just a thought.

You're welcome for the feedback. I always like to get it too. I guess I should post mine, and get opinions now too. We're leaving next Friday! Woohoo!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

No, we've never tried Prime Time. My dd really wants to go there. I am starting to worry about getting too much "attention" there. We're kind of quiet and introverted. We'll be there for Mother's Day.

We went to the Sci-Fi several years ago and enjoyed that, though we had a table, not a car.

We have never been to 'Ohana either. We're taking my parents along there and then going on a Wishes cruise (surprise for EVERYONE!)

We have been to Chef Mickey's, the Garden Grill (though for dinner not the Ice Cream Social), and CP. We celebrated ds's 3rd birthday at CM, and he requested to go back.

Thanks for your input!

Beth

Don't worry, you may not get alot of attention there. We didn't. If she wants to go, then go and have fun! Re: SciFi, we always request a car during our ps. I wouldn't want to sit at a table either.

Ohana is great! We went for the 1st time in Dec. 03 and I'm taking my Mom for her 1st time next week! I can't wait! Make sure you save plenty of room for eating! And, if you need a kids menu, you can request one from 1 of the other restaurants in that resort. I've heard they have no problem with that. My 2yo dd is definitely not a meat eater, so this meal would not appeal to her!

Great surprise for everyone! Hope you have a blast!

We have eaten at all the places you have planned and liked them all, CM however is our least favorite of all of them. Between CRT and LTT is a tough decission. WE like them both, though they are quite different. LTT is sitdown all you can eat family style. The food we found really good. The service is not the best we have had, but with asking we got what we needed and were fine with that. The characters are really good here and we got lots of attention. Eating at the castle is very cool. The service here is awsome. We found the food really good too. One note is that they do not have fries with the kids meal, but rather corn and mashed potatoes. If you DS only eats the nuggets, burger or whatever, he might not be full. Deserts here however are great, so sure he could finish with that.
We like the food at PT cafe too. Our waitress was just right as far as the interation. They are really good at reading people and know how to behave. YOu can also ask for a less outgoing waitress if you want.
Also saw you are doing Ohanna's. We LOVE this place.
You are eating great. Have a blast.

Jordan's mom

Thanks for the info, Jordan's Mom! He will eat corn and mashed potatoes. He's not that picky, but he really wouldn't eat a steak or the chicken dishes (and won't touch fish).

I am so excited!

My DD, 6 years, and I ate at the castle and Chef Mickey's last week. Both were wonderful, and we would do them again. The atmosphere at the castle can't be beat for a little girl, and we were really treated like royalty! Of course, the party at Chef Mickey's, where she got to meet 7 different characters, was really fun! We had a PS for 7:00pm and only waited for about 10 minutes, this during peak season, too.
Loved both places!

If I had to pick between the Liberty Tree Tavern and the castle, I think I'd go with the castle. I've been to LTT three times with family and we've had a good time, but the family liked it much more than I did.

There wasn't anything, in particular, wrong with the food or the service. I just felt like it was sorta blah. The food I cook is much better. I understand it's sponsored by Stouffers, and I just had a hard time getting the idea of the "red boxes" out of my mind. Crazy, huh? I know others LOVE it.

It's for that very reason, though, that we're doing dinner at the castle this fall. The atmosphere there can't be beat!

Have fun with whatever you decide.

Pat

190 days and counting . . . again!

OK...I added a PS for CRT for 6:55 pm. I didn't cancel the LTT one yet. That one is for 5:35 pm. I think that we are going with CRT, but I didn't want to get rid of the LTT one just yet. I chickened out and didn't tell her it was for my birthday. It was so easy to say that a PS was for my son's b-day, but I felt foolish saying that it was for MY birthday.

That is a Tuesday night with Spectro at 8:30 pm and Wishes at 9:30 pm. I definitely want to see Wishes one last time that night, but we don't really need to see Spectro again. We should be done in plenty of time, right?

Thanks for all your help!

Beth

We ate at CRT for dinner this past Dec. and really loved it. The food & service were both excellent. There is something really special about eating dinner inside Cinderella's castle. We have never eaten at LTT so can't help you there.

Hi Beth,

I'm trying to decide on lunch or dinner at the castle. There will be 2 girls, 10 and 9, in our
party, but the food looks a bit fancy for all the adults taste in our group (including me).

Has anyone just went to the castle to have dessert?

Thanks,
kim

Hi, Kim!

The food looks a little fancy for our family, too, but I think we're going to try it anyway. Since it looks like the three kids can order off the children's menu, we'll probably be ok. DH will be grumpy, but he can't say anything, because it's my birthday.

Does anyone know if DH and I can split a meal there?

Thanks!

Beth

The Castle, DEFINITELY!!!!

We've eaten at both for dinner. I would only go to LTT for dinner to see the characters with young children (as we did with dd 2). The food, while perfectly fine, is NOTHING out of the ordinary. It's like eating what you should cook your family each night in a perfect world when you all sit around the table and discuss your days (picture Ozzie & Harriett, plenty of veggies, etc. LOL)

The whole castle experience is special and shouldn't the birthday girl have a special evening? Trust me on this one ( ), I really think you'll be glad you did!!!

Have fun!!!!!!!!1:sunny: :

We have eaten at both, and the food is way better at the castle for dinner- lunch at LTT is by far my favorite(GREAT chocholate milk)

As far as the kids go, a few trips ago we had breakfast at the castle and my son hated everything on the menu; CM (Dave) asked the chef if it was possible to get a pancake and they sent out to another restaurant to get ingredients to make my son his very own mickey pancake.

Have fun...

Paul
