I leave for WDW in 4 days. I thought I had done my homework, but I'm still finding out stuff that I had no idea even existed.

Is there some show/feature/event at dusk where the castle in the Magic Kingdom lights up each night? I'm not referring to the extra-cost Christmas party, but something that happens on regular nights with a regular admission.

Yes, there will be a short castle lighting ceremony each night, party or not.

What's it called? (Everything at Disney is called SOMETHING)
What time does it take place?
A Frozen Holiday Wish. Current start time is 6:15 but I think it varies a bit throughout the season based on when it gets dark.

Just to be clear, it is fully dark by 5:45, or so, in Orlando throughout the time they perform this show.

Thanks all! Is this show worth missing an attraction? I just found out about it, and unfortunately we just don't have a lot of margin built into our schedule.

At least see it once and let yourself decide! My kids hardly care about "Frozen Anything", but watching the castle get lit up is always an amazing spectacle.

To clarify - 3 adults, no kids. We get to WDW about every 5 or 6 years.

We’d have to miss Pirates or Country Bears or Monsters Inc. in order to see the castle lighting

I don't think the lighting is long enough for you to miss an attraction, Bears and Monsters are anytime attractions.

For anyone who's never seen it I feel it's something that needs to be experienced at least once. It's really just a simple little show, but it's a magical experience seeing the castle light up. It's only like 7 minutes long and it isn't something you need to camp out for unless you felt you really needed to be up close to the characters on the stage. Just show up anywhere in the hub area with a decent view of the front of the castle like 10 minutes before it starts.

I saw them 8 years ago.
I saw them this year.
They seem to never age.
One sure thing the Bear Band's got. Is real ol' country rhythm!
Bears sadly are ripe for being replaced with more marketable ip ... they have long been evicted out of Disneyland and only really get love in Tokyo

I was rumored a while back that they would be replaced by a Toy Story show. This rumor was debunked, but considering the past couple of times I have gone to the show it is sparsely attended, it would make sense to put something in there that would draw crowds.

I think it's worth missing an attraction for - especially any of the 3 you listed.

I just found out (about an hour ago) that I'll be at Disney on Friday so I'm going to head to the Magic Kingdom and stay through the Castle Lighting (I'm not doing the Christmas party) before leaving and going to Disney Springs to see the Christmas Tree Trail. Love squeaking in a bit of Disney Christmas!
