Castle Inn & Suites vs. Desert Inn & Suites

Ok, after many sleepless nights I think I've got it narrowed down to one of these two places - many others are already booked for when we're going to be there (4/20 - 4/23) -- we like the fact that both have the 2 room suite options, both have a fridge & mircowave. Castle seems a bit cheaper, but maybe a bit of a longer walk (in looking at the map).

Does anyone have anything really good or really bad to say about either place?

Many thanks!

Out of those two I'd for sure go with Desert Inn. We stayed at the Castle Inn a few years ago and did not have a good experience there. It's one of those "never again" places for us. Desert Inn is much closer of a walk and I've heard a lot of good things about staying there!

Have not stayed at Castle but it is definitely a longer walk.

Dessert Inn has been fine for us. Not my favorite, but still an acceptable choice.

Out of the two, Desert Inn & Suites wins hands down. Castle is desperately in need of some refurbishment/cleaning. Check tripadvisor reviews and that should help you decide.

You couldn't pay me to stay at Castle Inn and Suites. We have stayed at Desert Inn and my only real complaint was the pool. It is an indoor steamy pool and sort of small. I'm from Utah so I get my fill of indoor pools, would prefer an outdoor pool. I would definately go with Desert and avoid Castle at all costs.

Another vote for Desert Inn and Suites. We have stayed at both and Desert is MUCH nicer and MUCH closer. Castle looks fairly close on the map, but at the end of a long day it seems like it's miles away from Desert.

FYI, I also checked out the Desert Inn and their two room "suite" is actually just two standard rooms with an adjoining door. Don't know if this will make any difference to you or not but it might help in pricing the other hotels. I was considering a suite for our trip because my mom is coming with us (me, hubby and 2 boys under 5) but it was cheaper to do two rooms at HoJo with the entertainment rate. I've read so many good things about the HoJo that I don't think I'll be disappointed at all. The walk from HoJo is supposed to be 7 minutes.
