Hi - we are taking our first trip to CA disney in Sept. We are annual travelers to FL disney but decided to try something new this year.

Has anyone ever stayed at the Castle Inn?

Any comments and any and all information would be appreciated!

Thanks
Nicole

I have never stayed at the Castle Inn but I posted this question a few weeks back and my answer was that it generally does not get good reviews.

In generall I have not heard good things about it. IE: The rooms are worn and dirty. It is a cute looking place but there are to many red flags when reading reviews.

Its close (within a 7 min walk)

Ive never stayed there but most have equivelated it with Super 8s on luxury-

So if you are looking for a bed youll prob do just fine anything more than that- Id look elsewhere

I personally vouch for the HOJOs and the Super 8 on Katella- Never had a problem with either :)

I stayed here in 8/01 and had no problem. Would I compare it to a Disney resort? No but its a place to sleep and close to everything. I would stay there again.

we stayed at castle inn a few years ago. It was okay. The parks were real close by and the convenience of the dl shuttle was great. The room was clean and comfortable. :)

I have stayed there and wouldn't really recommend it unless you just really needed a place to sleep. The pool is tiny and that is about it for the hotel. The only perk is the proximity of the hotel to the parks but luckily there are a ton of hotels that can provide that.

I would recommend the Marriott Residence Inn. It is not a far walk to the parks, but provides a shuttle. We usually walked because it only took about 10 minutes.

The pool is very nice with a jacuzzi. There is also another jacuzzi across the way. We loved this because it was right around the corner from our bldg and it was nice to take a relaxing soak before bedtime.

We paid $89 a night in the sudio suite. We had two queen beds and a sofa sleeper. Each unit has a full kitchen including a dishwasher and all utensils, glasses, microwave, etc.
Every morning there is breakfst served, not just doughnuts and coffee. Tehre is cereal, oatmeal, eggs, bacon, or waffles, etc. This is a complete breakfast. Also during the week, a free dinner is provided as well. We were only able to take advantage of this one evening. It was ravioli's with a salad and bread. We were happy with this.
There is coffee and hot water set up all day so if you want tea or hot chocolate, you can help yourself.
You can also see the fireworks at night from the hotel. I highly recommend staying here. We will be again in November.
