Castle Changes??

I really really like what they did to the castle for the 50th celebration of disneyland. With captures of many characters throughout disney placed in gold around the castle, it really brings out the beauty of Disney.

Since the 50th celebration ends this month, and the "Year of a million dreams" (i think that is what it is called) begins in the beginning of October (or last few days of September), i wonder if they will change the castle? leave it the way it is?? or take everything down to return it back to the way it was??

anyone hear anything?

They have already started removing the gold and making the castle back to 'normal.'

I loved the Castle and now with the decorations removed I think it looks to plain!

All the characters are gone now and all that remains is that big mirror. It does look plain

WOW!!

That makes me sad ... i was hoping that there would still be something left of those decorations. We are bringing my brother (who hasn't been since he was 4 or 5, so he really doesn't remember it), he would have liked to have seen that. but, he can see it in our pictures. we got tons of pics of the castle.

i was looking back at some of my pre-50th celebration pictures, and I totally agree.. it looks too plain without the gold. i thought that encorporating the characters really added a nice touch.

oh well, maybe there will still be the mural there when we go on the 20th?? we'll see.

Oh no!! I was hoping they would leave the gold and the characters and get rid of the mirror. I always felt the mirror looked out of place when I saw it in pictures. Maybe it's more difficult and they'll do it later. I felt completely opposite about the Golden Castle than I did about the Castle Cake. Peter Pan and the gang (especially Tink) were perfect up there in my opinion.

I like the decorated castle, including that mirror. Itr was pretty, and the classic castle look is plain now.

Castle Crane Aug 06 is when they brought the crane in but the decorations where still up

Castle Sep 2 06 when they took them down on the left side.

Castle Sep 8 06 now most of the decorations are down.
