Hello

My Husband and i have done 2 previous Disney cruises - of which I was the lead passenger on both

My DCL account shows me as having silver castaway status and a membership number

My Husbands shows no castaway status

Would he not be eligible for a membership number as he was not the lead passenger?

If he is eligible how can I get his DCL account to show this?

I am trying to book 2 cabins on silver castaway early bird status but can only book 1 as only shows me as having castaway

Have been on hold for 90 mins so far to try get it resolved as also can not even book 1 cabin due to an IT glitch where i cant input my DOB!

Not a very magical start to the trip!

Thanks!

I could be wrong but he should have automatically gotten a Castaway Club number after your first trip. It does not matter who booked the trip. My kids are 14 and 11 and they are gold and I can assure you they haven't booked or paid for anything! Lol....

haha that would be something pretty spectacular if they had! thanks for getting back to me, gives me comfort that once i eventually hopefully get through on the phone that they will be able to resolve this for me

He will for sure have a Castaway number. If you kept your boarding cards from your most recent cruise, you will find it there.

Any DCL confirmation email from your last cruise should also include the Castaway Club numbers for each member of your party.

If your husband's DCL account was never linked to your reservations, there would be no way for DCL to automatically associate the account with his Castaway membership. Someone has to tell them that "this account belonging to a 'John Smith' is the same 'John Smith' whose Castaway Club number is xxxx".

Do you have any of your room keys from the ship? His number Is on there.

Does he have his own Disney profile? It sometimes has issues when I put my gold kid into another room because she doesn’t have her own profile- my spouse does and I’ve linked his castaway status to his so he’s good to go.

I just went through this. They were able to call and merge the accounts. For some reason even if the CC number is attached to MDE, they need to connect it somewhere else also.

thanks everyone i have managed to find his membership number however i cant work out where to add that to his profile

meanwhile after 2 hours on hold to DCL my mobile phone network cut me as a preventative measure to not overspend

i feel like i am getting further and further away from being able to make a reservation

Try online chat? Having the Castaway number on hand should make it easier once you do get ahold of someone.

I would try logging into your husband's DCL account and chatting from there. Or if you decide to call back, others have reported success in getting through quickly by choosing the "new reservation" menu option. Since ultimately you *are* trying to book a new reservation, that seems like it should be fair game. 🙂

Is there a discrepancy with his name? We found that. Our name starts with a prefix like McDonald -- and DCL had us all listed as Mc Donald, with a space as if it were 2 separate words. You have to get DCL to fix it on their end.

Yes, they did that to me. I was Mc X...and I complained and they fixed me to McX.

This happened to me with my hyphen. DCL had no hyphen so they had to fix it for me.

no no his name is correct, it just says he has no memberships which is so frustrating!

Exact situation happened for us -- our last name is McDaniel.

I know DD22 has 2 versions on My Disney Experience/DCL because one has a character she picked (and has all the Disney world stuff attached to it), and the other is a generic icon and has her FCC from the 2020 cruise on it (and apparently her castaway#)

With his Castaway #, you should be able to get it fixed though. Good luck getting through in any form! Maybe if you're able to use a TA they could do it?

thanks so much for everyones help! i have now managed to secure 2 cabins via my own castaway - i just had to do them as 2 separate bookings, however i am showing as the lead passenger on both and need to switch one of the cabins to my husbands so i will call DCL when the wait times arent so long and get his account connected to mine and switch him to lead passenger in one. hopefully i wont get in trouble for booking 2 cabins as myself but the website did allow me x

In general, a change in lead passenger is treated as a cancel and rebook. Given how many room categories on summer 2023 cruise are going to GTY status due to limited inventory, and given prices may go up quickly as inventory opens to general public, it might make sense to proactively cancel and rebook the second room under your spouse’s name and have them link his castaway number later.
