I am traveling with my friend and her daughter. First time for all on a Disney cruise. Will my friend and I receive our each castaway club membership or will they be combined together? If they are combined can we request to get to separate memberships?

Each person in a stateroom gets their own Castaway Club membership. Not only will you and your friend have your own memberships, but your friend's daughter will as well.

You each get your own membership, which makes booking in the future easier. But I believe it is only 1 gift per stateroom.

All Castaway Club members get a gift per stateroom. Gifts varies based on level too. You also get lanyards for each member. Note that you count sailings AFTER you are done. So you become silver after your first sailing, gold after 5, etc.

You will get a gift on your second sailing. You don't need to rebook on board.

I should add that you get the stateroom gift as long as there's at least one castaway club member traveling.

Also, the gifts change often. And apparently DCL has been mailing a car magnet after you change levels. Not sure if Silver is getting them.

Currently, everyone gets a bag - the color of the thread changes depending on club level, same goes for the color of the lanyards you get when checking in. Gold and Platinum might get extra gifts in addition to the bag, but the bag is the sure thing as of right now as far as I'm aware.

The gift can vary. Alaska gets a sling style backpack. Think 14 day cruises get more or different or maybe it's the destination that dictates the gifts.

A lanyard is given on the persons second sailing and every sailing after. Each level has its own precious metal color code.
On silver they say "welcome back", on Platinums they say "welcome home." If someone knows what exactly those comments are, I've been looking for them for months, please share.

But 1st time cruisers do not get a lanyard so have them pick up one online so they can have a fun one that they want. I had Marie from Aristocats for my daughter and my husband wanted to just pocket the card and I had a Snow White lanyard.
