No, but since you have to be a CC to book a cruise onboard that is how it is listed. It is just for bookings originated onboard. Anyone who transfers one of those bookings to a new cruise in 2011 will get the new tiered OBC. Here are the amounts.
~~~~ NEW OBC AMOUNTS FOR 2011 CRUISES FOR CC MEMBERS W/ ONBOARD BOOKINGS ~~~~
Silver
$100 for 3-6nt cruises
$200 for 7nt or longer cruises
Gold
$150 for 3-6nt cruises
$275 for 7nt or longer cruises
Platinum
$250 for 3-6nt cruises
$350 for 7nt or longer cruises
Ah right OK I get you now. My little brain takes a long time to catch on. So basically onboard credit is higher if you book on the cruise and you are of a higher level than someone else but this is still essentially just the OBC offer for booking while on the cruise. Got you!
Silver 1-4 cruises
Gold 5-9
Platinum 10+
Lisa aren't you are 1 off on your number of cruises. According to the DCL website you are gold after you have completed your 5th cruise and platinum after completing your 10th cruise.
I've taken 8 cruises and according to the website I will be platinum after I take 2 more cruises. So the benefits don't kick in until your 6th cruise for gold and your 11th cruise for platinum.
The exception to the above appears to be the rebooking on board. You could be on your 5th cruise. Technically you are silver because you haven't COMPLETED 5 cruises. However, if you book on board for your next cruise, you will be gold before the cruise (and depending on the day you book, you may be off the ship before it is processed!) Thus, you will be given the higher OBC for cruise number 6.
Since none of us has sailed on the deal, we can't be sure. However, this would be consistent with the concept that if you are on your first cruise and rebook on board, you do get the benefit on your second cruise--even though technically you hadn't COMPLETED your first cruise at the time of the rebooking.
I was answering in response to the OBC and rebooking benefits that have been discussed in this thread. When you have done 1-4 cruises you get silver OBC. On your 5th cruise you are able to book your next cruise with gold benefits.
