When do you get your "invitation" for this? I noticed on Navigators it says to bring the invitation to the party.

Also, what is the party like? Meet the captain etc?

I dont remember which day it was, but your room host will leave the invitation in your room the day before the party. It is a large invitation with Mickey onthe front so you can't miss it, I believe it was on the bed after it was turned down one night.
The captain does attend and beverages and snacks are served. I believe it was a nice dress occassion, not formal. We have never attended as we had other things planned at the time of the party, maybe on our 8th cruise in December we will go. I did save the invitations and put them in my scrapbooks for each trip.

The CC reception on the 8/6/05 Magic cruise was held Monday at 5:00 in Rockin' Bar D; our invitation was left in the stateroom the night before. I think it depends on your stateroom host tho; I saw some invitations left in the message fish down the hall from us.
They had tables set up with munchies and the servers were carrying trays of punch; alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The captain, cruise director and several other officers were there. One of them spoke to the cruise to thank us for cruising again and a couple of other remarks and would not comment on the 2007 schedule yet. They said it would probably be October before they release the schedule. The reception lasted about an hour and the room was full, but not crowded. All members of your family are welcome to attend, not just the adults.

My mom has been on DCL before (with my sister)..does the reservation have to be in her name for her to get invited?

Does anyone know what the CC party is held on the Wonder on the 4 night cruise? TIA! :)

I dont know if the reservation would need to be in her name, but make sure when you make the reservations that she is registered as a returning guest. Not just for the party, but she will have a gift waiting in her room when she goes to her room. Also there is a special window at check in for returning guests which usually moves quicker, your entire party can check in together even if she is the only returning guest. I would ask DCL if the reservation must be in her name to be sure. I would hate for her to miss the gift and party over a technicle mistake. You can e-mal them and ask, they are very prompt about answering questions on line. Just go to DCL official site and look for the "contact us" icon at the bottom of the page. I have done this many times when I have comments or questions I need answered.

How do they know who the repeat cruisers are?

I suggested my Mom have this information written on her reservation with her TA but her TA is clueless...:confused3

Nevermind

I called DCL direct and they also say the TA should have it noted on my Mom's reservation.

Last year our IL's we able to come to the party with us. They had never cruised DCL before and they had their own room but they still were allowed to come with us. I thought that was generous of Disney.

Last I heard, the CC party for the 4 night cruises is on the Castaway Cay day (Tuesday). Also Pirate Night.
For each of our cruises, we have received the invite on the message fish outside our stateroom door.
Drinks and hors d'ourves (some were pretty good!). The captain speaks and you can meet some of the other officers as well. If your cruise is full, I would suggest getting there on time or a little early if you would like a place to sit. On our Spring Break cruise, it got pretty crowded. DCL has one of the highest (or the highest) return cruiser rate in the industry.

This will be my 4th cruise but we've never attended the Captain's Party. How do you manage all that? I'm just wondering...with an early dining seating and the Captain's Party and the Pirate Party what's a girl to do?!? :scratchin Wish I had this kind of a dilemma all the time! :goodvibes

This is how we managed it (or not)

We started out the day at the Brunch at Palo. Then at 3 pm we went to the wine tasting. Then at 5 we went to the Castaway Club party. By the time dinner came around at 6 we really weren't hungry. So, as we were walking towards Parrot Cay we passed The Promenade Lounge, saw our very favorite bartender, parked ourselves in our very favorite bar chairs and he placed in front of us our very favorite drinks. We decided NOT to go to dinner.

This caused quite a dilema for Flloyd the Hospitality Officer. He strolled by to see if we were enjoying ourselves and asked if we had late dinner seating. We said yes, we loved the cruise and no we have early seating but will not be dining tonight.

WELL! You would have thought we just killed his dog! He was mortified and made all kinds of amends. "we will seat you in late seating, just walk in, I'll take care of it" No we said we were not hungry. "NO, we will send dinner to your cabin!!" Um, no, really we're not hungry, but thank you very much!

He was crushed. Next time I'll know to say YES we are on our way to dinner and we will eat everything in our plate :rolleyes1
