Castaway Cay??

Has anybody heard anything official yet about the fate of Castaway Cay??

DCL advised me this morning that it just had 'minimal' damage so it was just matter of seeing how long clean up would take!

I'm SO glad! I felt so selfish being concerned about CC with all the more important losses. However, I am so happy to hear it is ok and can bring some future happiness to those poor Floridians(and my family too, of course.)

im sailing tommorow and they said we might be going to the bahamas (nassau) instead of castaway cay.

I figured out that if that happens on our cruise, I would be just as happy. We booked an overnight room for Atlantis for the Nassau day. So, if we stayed an additional day in Nassau, we could use Atlantis for the following day as well, and it won't cost us a cent! We would get two days at Atlantis for what we already paid for one day.

I do not know how they got there.

There was quite a thread last week when Frances was coming about the safety of the cats.

I guess it also depends on who you ask at Disney. I just reserved the fishing excursion at CC for our Oct. 30th Magic cruise and she told me I was being very optimistic! I'll just keep my fingers crossed- as long as we're on the big boat w/Mickey we'll be happy. I also asked her about Ivan- she said that she's escaped the last 2 and is extremely scared about this one- Good luck and Godspeed to all our Florida Dis friends!

you;ll be pleased to hear this is what i got from dcl last night re our 9th october cruise due to visit cc on 15th october

At this point, the weather we experienced due to Hurricane Charley and Hurricane Frances should not
impact your cruise vacation in October. We hope to return to Castaway Cay within the next few
weeks. We should know more about Castaway Cay within the next few days.

I just got off the phone with DCL and she read a message that was sent to all CM to let the guest who are sailing tomorrow what is going on. She said that their 3rd port is still undetermined at this time, it will be CC or Nassau. They are still working on the beaches and trying hard to get everything done.

I'm keeping my fingers cross, we cruise Oct 16th. This will be our first DC and are so excited. I keep looking on the bright side, it I don't get to see CC this time I will have to rebook another cruise. lol
