Castaway Cay

Don't know why not - but having to haul it around and/or blow it up may be more work than its worth - we rented a tube and a raft for the day - I think it was only about $15 for both - for that price I don't think I'd bother trying to bring by own.

We bought the cheap set from Walmart that had a ball, a ring, and a small body surfer (there were no waves @ CC) lol we never opened it, What we did need was some arm floaties for an inexperenced ocean swimmer. They sell them there, but cost 2$
We also had bought arm floaties at Meads Bay when we were at the dolphin swim, for 3$ new, at the end of the day, they wanted them back!!!LOL:confused: I would not want to be the next person to use them and put my mouth on them to blow them up!:crazy2:

we have done this before. I just buy some cheap ones at the end of summer and then save them for when we go on a cruise. If they have not been opened or used, then they take up very little room in your suitcase. Then i toss them when we are done, as I don't pay much for them and it is not worth the hassle to pack to take home.

If you don't want to pack floats you could always order a basket from Shirley and ask her to add one or more. We got the sand buckets from her and my kids loved them! Did have to take them home on the plane because they were "better than the ones we have at home". I'm sure Shirley could find something for you.

Just got back from 4/4 Wonder trip...we did see people with their own floats...BUT one word of warning...we saw people with their own snorkels and masks HOWEVER lifeguards would not let them snorkel without yellow inflatible life preserver that they rent at CC.. I am not sure if you can just rent the life preserver or not...perhaps someone else knows...

Barb:

Thanks for the information. We will be bringing our own snorkel equipment but my kids would be crushed if they were not allowed to use it. Do the kids have to use the vests if they are good swimmers?

Everyone, including adults has to use the vests.

Last time we went to CC my BF and I brought those "Spring Floats" with us (we use them at home in his pool), because the fold up very small/flat and were easy to pack, plus they come with their own little mesh carrying bag w/ sholder strap. Also, it takes virtually no time at all to blow them up. I think we got ours at Target for about $18 each, but I've seen them other places as well.

I bought inexpensive swim-rings at Wal*Mart to take for the grandkids to use ... they are flat and I'll just toss them at the end of the day. Am also taking 3 small sand buckets(97¢ @ Target) and Little Tike sand shovels ... figure I can just tuck them in my suitcase in the corners ... the grandkids love digging in the sand.

We used the floats for rent at CC. I put sunscreen on and then lay on my stomach on the float for a while. Then turned over and lay on my back. Must have wiggles somehow on my stomach and the foam sort of compresses in creases. Anyway the result was a "pinstriped" suntan up and down my legs. Looks hilarious. Has faded quite a bit now (cruised the first week of May) but it was a hoot to look at the day after CC.
