Is it crowded when both boats are visiting the island? Why don't they stagger it ?

I think DCL does try to stagger the boats at CC -- the Magic visits on Friday; the Wonder on Wednesday and Saturday

DCL never has both ships docked at CC on the same day. Some of the online port schedule web sites do sometimes show them both there, but it does not happen. There is no possible way to dock both ships at the same time.

as mentioned the two ships can't dock at the same time but if they could...there is no way the island could support that many people in its present design. They would need to do some major changes. I hope they never do however because CC is just perfect the way it is ....well maybe a few more hammocks at SB:beach:

I would have thought they would have built the pier to handle two ships. But I guess until they expand the guest area on the island there is no need to dock both ships.

There is plenty of room on the island to expand so maybe once the new ships are crusing that might happen.

Sorry must have misunderstood a web site. I can't remember the name, but the one where you can see what other boats are in dock with you. I thought it said that we were on castaway cay on the 25th dec with the wonder. But looking now on the disneycruise.com it states we are docked on the saturday. That is a relief it would have been a bit of a scrum.

Thanks

PP are right, they don't dock together at CC, or even at PC. Our porter told us about a time when, due to a hurricane, both the Wonder and Magic were at Port Canaveral together. He said it was a nightmare - everyone pulling double shifts to try to get the ships unloaded/loaded/cleaned and ready to set sail. He said he hoped it never happened again...

They try to avoid this. But we did pass by CC and saw the Magic on our sea day when we were on the Wonder last month! That was cool!:thumbsup2

I wonder how the size of the new ships (when and if they are built) will affect Castaway Cay. The initial design is for "larger ships." I would hate to see CC overrun. Its perfect now!

The new ships are supposed to hold about 50% more passengers so that would make CC a bit of an issue for the new ships - but it's a "big" island and dcl will probably open up another beach somewhere.

THat being said, what about the dock. I understand that the channel leading up to it is a little tight for the current ships - will they spend some time making it bigger and deeper for the new ships?
