I am leaving for my cruise on August 5th and I checked the forecast and it said scattered t storms and 60% of rain. Has anyone been to castaway cay lately, if so, how was the weather?

We've only been in October. I know hurricane season runs through November. On our first cruise, there was a hurricane that made it impossible for the Captain to dock at CC. But then the next visit weather was great! Then the 3rd visit, started off nice but ended with rain by the end of the day. You just never know.... You could always look at an almanac for Nassau since that's the closest island to CC. And some pixie dust for good weather for you! :tink:

Have fun no matter what! :cheer2:

Typical summer weather for the Bahamas & Fla always includes scattered thunderstorms, usually in the afternoon or early evenings...I would worry about it unless there is a real storm out there...even then the captain will sail around it. Anytime you visit WDW or take a cruise in the summer, there is always a chance of rain but the heat is more of a concern, so take sunscreen, sunglasses, hats & more sunscreen! Enjoy cruising! Last month we had 2 great CC days...we had pixiedust on our double dip!

What was the average weather for CC in October? We know it can either be hot or chilly here in the states and up where I'm from in Pittsburgh, it can either be 80 or 30, it goes back and fourth. We just don't know if we should prepare for hot summer weather or if it will be average. Our cruise is October 14-18 so it's about mid month

We were there over Halloween the second time and it was nice and hot! The 3rd time it was around the same time you are going....warm with a breeze but not hot - maybe mid 80's. Even when it rained it was a warm rain. Just bring a light coat on the ship just in case :)

HOT! We always go end of Aug (past 8 years) and it is definitely hot :cool1: We typically get a heavy shower for 20 minutes or so at some point - usually a good time to grab some lunch, or head back to the ship if it is close to the end of the afternoon anyway. Bring lots of sunscreen and water and I'm sure it will be fine :)

I was just reading this as I am researching a DCL vacay for next year. But I wanted to ask, how the heck are you getting into Club 33??! We will be there next week as well celebrating youngest DS bday and it is a dream of mine to dine there!! Share you secret with me please!! lol

We've cruised DCL twice in June, once in January, once in February, once in August, and once in October and my favorite so far was the month of August followed up in a close second by the month of June. All of our cruises stopped at Castaway Cay (2 cruises were double dips in fact).

The summer in the Caribbean is a lot like in ours in Florida - there is a chance of rain every day because of the heat building up.

Club 33 means being a member or someone you know being a member and making a reservation for you/ possibly needing to be tgere with you. The rules have recently changed. Also, used to be cost of food got you into the park but now i believe that's no longer the case. :thumbsup2

They still have those kind of tickets, just a limited number per member. The member doesn't have to go with you Just straightening out the facts...sorry to get off topic. :)
