I have been in Fantasy and Dream and I know they "back" into CC most stops. Do the smaller ships, specifically the Magic pull in forward or backward? Trying to decide on side of ship to book room. Thanks.

They all back in. The Magic and Wonder aren't that much smaller than the Dream class, percentage-wise.

They ALL on occasion will go in bow first - sometimes they have to run drills or do checks/maintenance that require it.

I would NEVER book a side specifically for Castaway as a - it may be a cruise where they go in bow first or b - there is always a possibility of it being missed. And personally I'm not hanging out in my cabin on Castaway Day. If you like the ship location of a cabin on the other side better, go for that.

We usually book port side, and honestly I prefer that view for Castaway Cay. I love watching as they dock and undock the ship. Especially when they fire the rope guns or whatever they're called.

Agreed. I like the view of the nature as well!

Plus if you've got a veranda you can wave to the island crew who comes to wave you off right from your stateroom rather than having to be out on a public deck.

The bon voyage is the best with all the island crew waving the ship goodbye with their Mickey's hands. Truly a benefit of a verandah.

Nap on a cruise?! No thanks! JK I actually can't nap anywhere. It gives me a headache. But if you're napping your eyes are closed anyways right? Or do you nap on your balcony? lol

Haha, the verandah is the prime reason my DH goes on any cruise: read a book, watch ships go by (with binoculars, another must), and take a nap (when on the shady side of the ship).
