Castaway Cay Tram?

My son wanted to know if you could just take a ride on the tram out to Serenity bay the adult beach? He just watch the Travel channel special on the Disney Cruise and he wants to see some of the island and he also enjoys tram rides. Will they let children (of course with us) ride out there? Or do they enforce the no one under 18 at this point before getting on the tram?
Any info would be appreciated.

I think the point-of-no-admittance for the under 18 crowd is actually at the entrance the to adult beach, and kids can ride out on the tram. There's a bicycle path that runs behind the adult beach, from the end of the old runway, and I'm almost positive that kids are allowed down there. Based on that, I don't see why he couldn't ride the tram out there.

If I'm not mistaken, he can ride the tram with you, I just don't think that they will let him past the point where you actually "enter" Serenity Bay. At least I know when we were there, there were children on the tram. I don't see why they wouldn't!

Does the tram run to the Teen Beach?¿

The teen beach is at the end of the family beach, so no tram runs by it (you would see it while walking to the adult beach tram). Children can definitely ride the tram, although you might get the "hairy eyeball" from fellow adult passengers who are wondering if you're going to try to crash!
Kids are welcome to walk the path behind that massage cabanas that leads to an overlook, so you may want to give that a try once you arrive. There are water stations there, too.

The bikes are a fun way to see that area too. They have bikes for all ages.

Never rode the tram, we walked everywhere, the island just isn't that big.
Don't know why everyone can't ride the tram, they just won't let children enter the adult beach. We rode bikes with our kids all the way to the end of the bike/hiking trail, so there are lots of kids, and things for them to see near the adult beach.
