I bought a tank top from Castaway Cay on our crusie in May. It's just cotton with the CC emblem on the front and straps w/butterflies. My question is this to anyone who has also purchased one....Are your straps HARD and SCRATCHY :confused3 Mine are SO stratchy, that I can't even wear it. I have washed it several times with no luck  Wish I would have worn it before disembarking, and maybe could have traded it in on a new one.

I don't have that one, but everything I bought on our West Coast cruise shrunk so much I had to give half of the stuff away that I bought for me! $42 DCL sweat pants I really wanted, I had to give to my niece. T-shirt I bought my DH ended up being mine after washing!

I really don't know what is up with the mdse (clothing/blankets) sold on the ships and castaway cay. My daughters blanket was coming apart after the first night she used it. Haven't tried my tank top yet, don't know about hers, but my polo shirt shrunk lengthwise and around the arms. Over three cruises all of the mdse seems to be of very low quality.

I agree about the quality...My sweatshirt (36$) shrunk SOOOOO much my dd6 wears it...Happy for her, but i WANTED IT...lol

I purchased the white tank top from castaway cay, (inside bra) and although it is not rough, my cats could wear it... :confused3

My wife purchased a shirt on a recent cruise and found a hole in it when we returned home. We called DCL and they referred us to the following contact:

Walt Disney World Mail Order [WDW.mail.order@disneyworld.com] or (407)363-6200

They requested that I fax (or mail) a copy of the receipt. They replaced the shirt without requiring the defective one be returned.

We agree with the overall quality of DCL merchandise. If they receive enough comments, complaints and returns maybe they will do something about it.

Maybe if Eisner FINALLY steps down, the whole Disney Company can get back up to snuff.

Thanks Lew for the number. I just called, and basically, I'm out of luck. The gentleman I spoke with said I needed to have the upc# on the tag from the shirt. I told him I threw it away, never thinking I wouldn't be happy with it. I told him I had the receipt that showed I bought it, but that didn't have the number on it. He told he there was nothing he could do without the UPC#. :guilty: I told him that it really stinks, because almost always, you can take merchandise back to a store without a tag as long as you have the sales receipt. I think I might just bring that shirt back to CC when we cruise next May :rotfl2: So lesson learned here....Keep all tags for Disney merchandise til you know it's worth keeping

Thanks or posting this! Were they made of 100% cotton? Did you wash them in cold water? I assume they were not preshrunk. What should I look for when buying t shirts? I can feel your "pain." If I bought all that stuff and it shrunk, I'd be pissed! I don't know if I should buy any clothing items.

The hassle you were given is quite upsetting considering the painless procedure I went through. This is not the way Disney does business.

We were not asked for the product tag with the UPC. It is entirely unreasonable to require the UPC; the receipt should be sufficient.

I would highly recommend that you call back and ask to speak with a supervisor.

so sad to realize quality of disney merchandise is declining ----

I purchased an italian charm link at WDW (black mickey head icon) and within one month and not wearing it everyday, over half of the paint has worn off. now i realize this was an inexpensive item compared to clothing; but i live far enough away that I treasure my disney souvenirs and i'm very disappointed it faded that quickly

i'm planning on wearing my bracelet to our cruise to see if I can exchange for a new one; guess i'll have to try something differenct but i really like my mickey head :confused3

I've also noticed a size difference between the shirts sold on DCL and WDW. I bought a shirt on CC size XL and it fits wonderfully, even a little loose. I bought a XL at WDW and it is so tight, I can't wear it. And that was before I washed it.
