Can you buy beach toys at the store on Castaway Cay? I don't really want to have to pack them and carry them off of the boat b/c we rented the bikes for a hour and I'd like to do the bike thing w/no items to worry about!!
TIA,
Lesley

Yes they are a little expensive but you can buy buckets spades molds etc.

You can, but it will cost you about 4 times the price of what you'd buy the same set of toys (basket/shovel/pail/sifter/etc) at WalMart....

Hey there, I was wondering the same thing. I guess if you have 27 days to do, so do we!

I think I will bring a few and try to get away with just a small amount.

We were thinking about renting bike too. Do you know what kinds they have?

They have all kinds of bikes. Something for everyone! We have left our snorkel gear, towels, etc in a net bag by the bike rentals and never had them bothered while we took a ride. I would not hesitate to leave a bag of sand toys there as well. We even saw the CMs offer to keep an eye on a sleeping baby while the rest of the family took a short ride. This was a few years ago.

Thanks that is good to hear. I know when we rented bikes at Vero Beach they held our bag for us. I should of brought though. It had my water in it and sure missed it.

Lesley. I have been posting away over there. Just me talking to myself this afternoon. :rolleyes1 Maybe we can share some beach toys! :thumbsup2

Both girls are super excited. Anna is looking forward to meeting Amber! :thumbsup2 We have a pretty good group of 5 to 7 year old little girls. It should be fun!

We bought sand toys at CC last May. They had good quality (thick plastic, no sharp edges) sets at some-what reasonable prices. I wouldn't bother to bring from home.

Here's a picture of the store at Castawy Cay. The beach toys are in the net bags in the center of the photo.

We bought sets that had a bucket, shovel and a rake. The buckets are small (good for 3 year olds and not too bad to take home on the plane). They are red and yellow, stacked up on the right side of the photo in the post before this.

That sounds good, do you remember around how much that was?

I was just there last tuesday. It cost $18.00 and they give you two buckets, two shovels, and some shapes. I dont know anything more then that. My kids are older and dont play with them but I heard the guy telling someone the price.

If you have time, shop at a Walgreens, Wal-mart, or someplace like that and buy beach toys. Save an extra tag to put on the bag when you check your bags in on the boat. That is what we did. Worked out great! Then you dont' pay the higher price of beach toys at CC.

Our first cruise we brought toys from home. Our second cruise we just bought some at CC. Yes, they cost a few dollars more, but I thought it was worth it not taking up space in our luggage and having to store them in the room until we got to CC.

If you wait long enough, you can find abandoned toys on the beach, plus if your kids are social like mine, they will just go up to other kids and start playing with them and their toys.
