Hi,

I've read some advantages to being a CC member, but can anyone who has been on a cruise lately as a CC member tell me exactly what differences (amenities, etc.) you received because you were a member? I'm especially interested in changes in embarkation and debarkation, but other things too.

Thanks!

:) Kim

There is a special set of lines for Castaway Club members. You may use any line, but usually the "frequent flyer" lines move faster. In your stateroom, you should find a gift from DCL. Currently, the gift is a beach towel and 2 trading pins (per stateroom, not per person.) Past gifts have included picture frames and travel bags.

In addition, you are invited to a reception with the captain and senior officers...free drinks and munchies. There is also a special 800 number for DCL that you can use for re-bookings, any questions, etc.

Not sure what you were referring to about changed in disembarkation--I'm not aware of any.

So are you saying that when I go on my cruise in September 2004 and rebook my current 2 rooms for September 05 that on the 05 cruise I will get to embark in a fast line and go to a captain party? After only one cruise?
Thanks

Jennprincess: ,

Yessirree! You become a Castaway Cay member after just one cruise! If my feeble memory serves me correctly, you will get a mailing after you get home about CC membership. I lost mine when we moved, but when I called the CC #, they were easily able to find me, give me my membership # and send me a new packet before we reserved this upcoming cruise.

Ain't it sooooo sweeet???

ooh, another question:

On the 4-night Wonder cruise: 1) what is the attire for the Castaway Cay member reception with the Captain; 2) are children included in that invitation, and 3) When is it usually held?

Thanks!

Your whole travel party is invited to the reception...dress is casual, but no swimsuits or coverups, please......

The line to check in does not always go faster and it not always the shortest. We have found that with so many return cruisers the Castaway Club line is sometimes longer than the regular check in.

One change in check in that we noticed on the 2/7 cruise was that now DCL has everyone checking in line up in one long Queue and they pull from that one line. In the past you would line up at each "window" (not really a window but many CM's at a long counter). So, the CC line may be shorter in this regard.

We have been back for over a month and have not recieved a packet. Is there a phone number to call to get one?

I don't remember how long it was before we got a packet, but here's the number on my CC membership card:

1-800-449-3380.

There are so many DCL repeaters that the Castaway Club line is almost always longer now! I remember the old days, when the number of ship officers used to outnumber the number of guests at the CC party (actually, I remember the days when they hadn't even started having parties yet, and they thought I was nuts when I asked for my repeat cruises gift). Hard to believe my first repeat cruise was over 5 years ago!
