It will be my birthday and I want to rent a cabanna at adult beach on castaway cay. How do you do that? Is it done online and when are you able to make reservations? Please any info about the process so I dont miss out would be great.

You can do it when your booking window opens (75 days prior if 1st cruise). You will to Port Adventures on the Castaway Cay day and scroll down to Cabanas.
FYI: Cabanas are hard to get:( The ones on the Serenity Bay are a little easier to come by. If there are none available the day you book keep checking back DAILY!!
If still no check with the Port Adventures Desk the day you board.

You book cabanas during the online excursion booking process. They are listed on your Castaway Cay day, but, unless you are traveling Concierge or are a Platinum Castaway Club level member, chances of you getting one are fairly slim.

Not saying impossible, but slim. If, when you go the the excursions on the Castaway Cay page, all the cabanas are listed at the end of the page, and grayed out, then they are all taken. But, keep checking, there are people who book them just to be sure they have one "in case" they really want one. And then they cancel it.

and people have until about 3 days BEFORE the START of the cruise to cancel - so again, keep checking every day.

And then enjoy your time on the beach, having saved about $500 because there weren't any cabanas available.

We've been going to Castaway Cay since 1999 and never once missed having a cabana. Plenty of Beach, Water, Loungers, Umbrellas. "No Problems Mon"

What ever you do, don't give up hope, you never know.
I have put my name on a waiting list after we boarded and have gotten one. Keep checking daily, as many times as you can, I have gotten one that way too.

I literally just booked a last minute 4 night on the Magic for next month, I won't give up looking. I need a cabana and a Palo Brunch.

Good Luck to you!!!

Unless you are gold or even platinum, chances are small to nil to get one. You should however check 3 days before. That's when people finalize excursions and realize they are way over budget and start dropping stuff. And a cabana may pop up... Good luck... You're gonna need it...

I think at 3 days prior to your cruise you are locked out of your reservation??
Shmoo do you know?

So as an added tip- print out your paperwork at least a week in advance. Oops

As far as I know, yes.

But the advice to keep checking - at random times of the day all the way up to 3 days prior is excellent advice.

And, if nothing comes up during that time, go immediately to Port Adventures once onboard and see if there's a wait list started for onboard cancellations.

A lot depends on the ship, the time of year, and which type you need. I know for my upcoming 4-night cruise on the Magic, I was able to get a Serenity Bay (18+ only) cabana at my 90 day mark (I'm Silver). And someone who is new got lucky and got a Serenity Bay cabana at the 75-day mark (I know for a fact that 25 was open on day 76 and was not when I looked on Day 75.

So... If you're on one of the smaller ships at an off-time OR a shorter itinerary (my week IS Presidents' Week, but it's only a 4-night) and can do the adult beach (everyone i the party is 18+), you might have a chance.

We just travelled and a cold day on CC and cold water ... I'm so glad I didn't book a cabana. I was lucky enough to get our money back from our tube rental which I now know I can book on the day, at the island.

Proof it happens, we are sailing the Magic in 10 days and we booked a Fl Resident rate 45 days before the departure.
Of course I didn't get a cabana, but I have been looking regularly. Just now I go and look and I see it Cabana SB #24, a moment of excitement and then BAM! I remember, we are bringing the grandkids this time......... and the search continues.

So anyone on The Magic January 25th, theres one on SB up for grabs, Good Luck!

We were on the Dream last week. Could not get a cabana prior to sailing, and tried a lot! When we got on board we got on a waiting list at Guest Services, and we eventually got one. Cabana 11, it was a great location and the wifi was very good.

I was checking every day for our wonder feb 2 cruise in a couple of weeks and cabana 3 popped up this morning, so I booked it!!! Love the cabana experience. We do it every time we can.

Wow, glad to hear stories of those that were able to snag cabanas right before their departure dates! It gives me hope! :beach:

Booked on a three-night cruise, and I was able to get one since I am platinum. However, the silver window is going to open tomorrow night, and there were still three family beach cabanas available and one SB cabana. You never know! But for a new cruiser, you would need to sail Concierge or keep trying. Another way is to get involved in your cruise groups and let folks know if they're going to drop their cabana you would be interested so they can let you know and you can jump on it. An alternative is to ask if anyone is willing to share and split the cost.

Usually. There was one SB cabana left when the 2/22 Magic cruise opened for new cruisers. I'd gotten one (24) as Silver, but was just looking a few minutes before the 75 day window opened and 25 was still there. So it DOES happen. Rare. But it does happen.

I was checking daily, sometimes twice daily and never found one until two days ago then the SB 24 cabana just popped up and I almost screamed. I ran to the computer as dcls website is not phone friendly and prayed it was still there. It was so I reserved that sucker

So keep checking back daily you may get lucky

Woohoo!! 24 is the one I scored for my parents and me for 2/23!

What I'm taking from this, if you're silver your chances on Fantasy or Dream are slim, but on Magic or Wonder you got a shot if you're diligent.

also, do they hold some back? We are concierge, but our 120 day window was Christmas day and I forgot to email them ahead of time-long story. ;) So they all showed as sold out. I emailed concierge about a list of questions including a wait list for the cabana. The team member responded no need for a wait list, we have confirmed you in #10. Strange, because 10 doesn't show on the original list under port adventues, but it is assigned in our activities guide. First DCL trip.
