I've been reading that it's best to do snorkeling right away in the morning before the sand starts getting kicked up. My question is there are two locations to get your snorkeling gear, which is the best place to get these items if you want to get to snorkeling first thing and what tram stop is the best. Thanks!!

Any is the answer, what's nearest, what you choose, no advantage, my preference is the second stop, most leave the ship and run to the beach and avoid the tram.

Basically secure the best location fir your beds and shade, have the map, go to where is nearest to you, you do not need to plan further than that.

Great, thanks!!

On a side note, my son snorkels at the end of the day (the CM's had to go in after him) and he saw a plethora of sea life including a sea turtle that that he swam with for quite awhile.

If you want to snorkel in the snorkeling lagoon, you want to get off at the first tram stop and get your equipment at Gil's.

The biggest benefit to snorkeling in the lagoon in the early morning, is the lack of people, and the fact at the sand hasn't been stirred up. However, I've also enjoyed snorkeling later in the afternoon. Many people have gone back to the boat by then and the lagoon is uncrowded.

Here is a map, the snorkel lagoon in blue, the rentals in red, you can see, both easy to get to, the right fills up very quickly, as cruisers getting off quickly walk/ run there avoiding the tram, as you can see, both near the beach, both near the lagoon.

I have found that snorkeling further out is where you see the most fish and sea life. Not that many people swim out to the barrier line, so I haven't experienced any trouble even in the late morning. No need to rush.

This is true. Make sure you grab a life vest before you go into the water. You do not have to inflate it ,but it is required to go snorkeling.... If you don't wear it, the life gaurds will remind you! Have fun! It is my favorite stop.

I prefer the second stop. It is closest to the entrance to the snorkel trail.

You can enter and snorkel anywhere. The ropes are for the swimmers to stay in. I have "launched" myself in the swimmers area and went under the ropes to the bouy markers where there are hidden things to see.

We snorkeled all afternoon, no problem with churned up sand or crowding....we, too, swam all the way out and hung out at the furthest points most of the time. We were on the Wonder so def less passengers than Dream or Fantasy.

if you can I recommend you bring equipment with you. Its REALLY expensive renting it through Disney.
