We are planning to go to Cedar Point this fall before the season is over. We will probably be heading down with 4 teen boys (our 2 boys plus 2 friends). What I would like to do is go on Saturday to one of the indoor park hotels and spend the evening swimming and relaxing. On Sunday morning, we will head over to the park for the majority of the day, and come home early evening.

We could also go with Plan B, which would be to go to Cedar Point on Saturday (though we wouldn't be able to get there until about 3 pm), then swim and relax on Sunday morning before driving home.

Do any of these three resorts stand out as being a better choice for the boys (ages 15 & 16)? Or, does anyone think the boys are really too old for the indoor waterparks and that we should just focus on Cedar Point?

Sorry to sound clueless - I think the last time I went to Cedar Point the Gemini was the lastest and greatest roller coaster!

Based on you kids ages I would vote for Kalahari. There are more slides and things for the older kids there than at Castaway Bay. I have never been to Great Wolf so I can't comment on that one. Kalahari has a surfing thing that your boys would probably really like. Castaway Bay has a few slides and a water coaster but it seems more geared to younger kids.

Have fun!

I vote for Kalahari based on your kids ages. We are going for the first time on 9-29. GWL and CB were great for us but my kids are 3 and 6. I just picked up a flyer today in Sandusky Mall. It is for MOST friday nights (till 3 pm on Saturday) through Nov. It is $88 including your water park passes. The code is HUTT HUTT, it says you must give school name when making reservations. Our school district is WIllard Flashes.

Kalahari no matter how you book on the day of checkout you have to be out by 3pm. At the other 2 you have till closing the next day atleast when we were there.
