I have friends who are insisting on using tickets from friends that are current cast members in Disney. Are those tickets able to get fastpasses 60 days out?

If the CM’s MDX account is linked to the MDX with the hotel reservation, the CM Passes share the 60-day booking window. The CM has to book the FPs for Guest Passes using their MDX and include the onsite guests in the grouping.
You need to ask if Comp Tickets or Guest Passes will be used. Both can share the open FP window.
The CM probably has her/his own MDX account. That account needs to be linked to the MDX where the onsite reservation is linked. So do they need to be on the reservation or just linked through friends and family?

Yes. The CM has to include an onsite guest in the grouping and she can book for the complete group. So link up mdx accounts with CM, (they are guest passes), and at 60 days out the CM will be able to book fastpasses for them
Someone posted that on another thread, not knowing if it was true or not I contacted Disney CM relations at WDW and asked. The response was that it was not the case for WDW CMs, they can get more than 3 FPs.Also, if they are a Disneyland CM, then they might not be able to get any additional FPs after the first three each day (this seems to vary and I don't know about CMs at other locations).

For Disneyland CMs, it seems to be hit or miss, the CM themselves can get a fourth and so on, but the guest passes sometimes can and sometimes can't.Someone posted that on another thread, not knowing if it was true or not I contacted Disney CM relations at WDW and asked. The CM must be part of the reservation, they can't just be linked in, they have to be in one of the rooms. Is the CM part of the reservation?
No; the window opens for the CM and Guest Passes without being on the reservation. The CM must be part of the reservation, they can't just be linked in, they have to be in one of the rooms.
That was definitely not our experience, even tech support told us the CM must be staying in one of the rooms and truly only the CM could book the FPs. I don't know if it is because they are a Disneyland CM or not, but it was a pain. No; the window opens for the CM and Guest Passes without being on the reservation.
My MDX is linked to the Rumors Mod and whenever he has a 60-day FP window, the CM MainGate and Guest Passes share the booking window.
My CM Comp ticket has a 30-day window due to a coding glitch and when I’m grouped with the CM and the Guest Passes for a FP, the complete group has a 30-day window.
It would be best to clarify that when booking with Disneyland admission media, it may be different. That was definitely not our experience, even tech support told us the CM must be staying in one of the rooms and truly only the CM could book the FPs.
