Cast Member Question- Dropping your status

Hey Guys have a questioon regarding employment at Disney. I have read about CR and CT and the how they are different. Unfortunately I don't have the full availability of the 6-8 weeks to become a CT. I do have the 3 day availability to become a CR. Can I get hired in as a CR and then transfer to a CT status? If you can do it how soon could you do it? After your probationary period is over?

You can drop your status (CR to CT) once your area approves it. Some are pretty leignent and may let you drop after a couple weeks, other areas do not have many CT openings so they may make you wait much much longer before they have an opening for you to drop into.

A couple people in my area tried to drop to CT but there just were no openings so they ended up just having to terminate their employment.
