Cast Member Pins

Legal disclaimer: By asking this question, I in no way want to violate Disney's policies regarding CM pins, perks, or what they are allowed to do or purchase as part of their status as Disney castmembers.

That being said . . . a friend of mine just got a job with Disney. Does anyone know if he is allowed to purchase special pins for me as they become available for castmembers? And is there a website somewhere that has pictures of the pins that CMs can purchase?

As far as I know, any CM can go into the Company D store and buy whatever they want and do whatever they want with it, give it to you, sell it to you, put it up for auction on their favorite Internet auction site, etc.

As for pics of what is about to be put on sale, Dizpins, normally has that news.

I was under the impression that CM's couldn't resell items they bought at Company D or on property. Any CM's know for sure?

I tried to answer this earlier, but lightening knocked out my modem....another interesting day in Orlando...

CM cannot sell anything they buy at discount or company D on any auction site....if they do and are caught, they can be terminated.. they can give whatever they buy to whoever they wish...if they are reimbursed for these purchases I would suggest it is done off property..

If a CM purchases anything for a friend, they must be the ones to pay for that purchase, and should not let anyone know that they are doing so.....If you are in the middle of a purchase, and ask someone else for any money, the sale will be stopped..and the cm can be spoken to..

The only place where you can have some pay for their own purchase is at Property Control....the people that accompany you can pay for their purchase, but you show your ID..

If she is a new Cm...have her read her information very carefully..

Quite a few CM have been fired for taking advantage of the system..

"buy for non CM friends"
tell her not to let even them
know she does this...

I read on Dizpins too that CMs badges are now bein scanned at the time the CMs buy LE pins, ensuring they can only buy their limit. (And not Co D hopping)
I do not know this to be fact.
I have heard where individual's sales are monitored when suspicion is aroused. But again that is second hand info.
My impression was it cannot involve personal gain for the CM. In addition my understanding is Disney does not want CMs buying merchandise and reselling at cost, as it takes money out of their pocket.
I think it is a situation that should not be abused and is taken more seriously than in the past.
Just something to ponder. It would not be worth losing a job over.

The badges are now being scanned....and that may be the reason...a reason wasn't given... and we are not to make a profit, or even sell pins at cost ..that is supposed to be a priviledge for Cm only.....and they will remove your discount ability, and your Company D priviledge..

As long as your don't abuse this....you will be fine....

Thanks for the info. I'm not looking to have him buy pins and then allow me to resell them -- I was realy just wondering about having access to cool pins I wouldn't otherwise have access to.
