Well, I can only tell you how it was when I was a cm a few years back. I was able to get 50% or more off the room. When I booked the ressie I had to give my 'code' on the back of my id card. At check in I had to show my id card... and that was it. I was able to book rooms for other people, I just had to fax a copy of my card to the resort.

The Room only CM discount for the CM staying in the room is 50%, 40% and 25%--depending on availability, as they only get to pull from a limited supply of rooms.

IF THE CM is not staying in the room and books a room discount for friends and family, the discount is 40% and 25%, depending on availability.

The CM can only book 5 reservations a year for friends and family and the CM must fax their ID to the resort or be at the resort when you check in.

You can not add the DDP to a CM room only discounted room...Just FYI.

Their room availability goes quickly as it is released about a year in advance.

Of course, the best discount is when the CM is staying in the room with you, or has a reservation for multiple rooms and is staying in one of the rooms.

During the holidays, December, January and sometimes parts of February, the CM discount changes to 60%, BUT THIS is only for a room that the CM is occupying. We have gotten this discount at BWI, AKL, and WL. Unfortunately hubby is no longer a CM, so now we just use our DVC points and AP discounts.

FYI--room availabily at the value resorts always seem to be good. Deluxes are harder to get late in the game. And CMs can now check availability online and can book online.

Thanks for the information. A client's daughter is doing an internship at disney beginning this fall. She told me her daughter may be able to get discounts on some rooms. My dates are 9/28-10/04 value season. She would not be staying in the room. Thanks again.

We were able to take advantage of this when my niece was an intern. I was booked at POR and she was able to get me 50% off at the Poly. Pricing ended up being about the same (w/the discount) so it was a no brainer to stay at the Poly vs. POR (especially since we had 5). She was also able to get me a discount on the park tickets (don't know if they can still do that).
