I love seeing some of the stories about the cast member Barbara on here. When I went to Disney World with my family, and friends in January 2014 over the MLK weekend. I tried looking for Barbara at the Magic Kingdom. I found her a couple times. I wished I would've gone up to say hello to her, and talked with her. But, I was with my friends, and my guy Dan, and we were always in a rush to get from one attraction to another because we were always on a schedule.

For those of you who have had the chance to interact with Barbara. What was your most favorite moment?

Barbara is lovely very friendly...I got a few crazy pics with her...!

BArbara is great!! She sure is one who will get you into the spirit of MK as soon as you walk in. We've ridden on the fire truck a few times with her as the driver, great experience!! :cool1:

We also saw a great cast member at Hollywood Studios during Star Wars Weekends. I don't remember his name sadly, but he was directing traffic by the event stage while DJ Elliot was playing. Of course he wasn't simply moving his arms, but dancing and waving to the beat.

Just saw this a few minutes ago and thought I would comment. Barbara has been on medical leave for 6 or 8 weeks now, not sure as to when she is coming back. Not real serious (foot as I understand - haven't talked with her since late April).

How do you get to ride on the Fire Truck? Do they run it most days? DS is a Firefighter!

I did not know she was popular, I saw her in December I think right before the parade. She was walking down the street before the parade I think when the music started and she was dancing and the crowd was cheering her on rather than the parade... this was one of the best memories I have at that trip.

When we were family of the day at MK in 2010 Barbara was our personal tour guide. She drove the fire truck back to Mickey's Toon Town with my daughter ringing the bell and escorted us around while the park was empty. She took some great family photos of us alone in Toon Town and rode the train back to the front with us and the characters. We love seeing her dancing as we walk in to the Magic Kingdom. Hope to see her in September.

I love her energy!! :)

Is she the same CM that lost a lot of weight by dancing? I saw a female CM about her size and height on an interview and she said she lost a crazy amount of weight by dancing all of the time.

We met Barbara in Feb 2015. We were on her fire truck about to drive down Main Street but after we were driving a few minutes she said something was wrong with the vehicle and that she couldn't drive us.

She was really funny...we tried to find her during our July and Dec 2015 trips but we have not seen her. Does anyone know if she is still at MK? We are going to look for her on our July trip.

I saw Barbara for the first time in 2012, and just fell in love with her energy. What a great dancer! So when we went back in 2013, I saw her and went up and told her how much I enjoyed her the year before. We talked for a bit...she told me about her career with Disney (something like 30+ years, IIRC)...and how so many days she does not even want to get out of bed cause her body hurts but thinking about what she gets to do is what gets her up and moving. I had my dh take a pic with her & I. She was setting up for the 3:00 parade and we were hanging out waiting in that area. She danced with my kids and other kiddos and PUSH. What a fun time!

I looked for her in 2014 and 2015 but never found her. I'll be looking for her next time we are there. She is truly a gem...as are so many of the CM's...many of them have left me with sweet memories!

Oh my, I remember her from our last trip to WDW in 2013! I even took a picture of her with my kids! My son sat crying on a bench at the MK train station waiting for the next train because he had falled and scrapped his knee running up the stairs. She came up and completely cheered him up - and he didn't even understand one word of what she was telling him (he speaks no English) but somehow she just managed to cheer him up and make him laugh with her within a few minutes. She called him her honorary train conductor which he thought was super special (he loves trains!).

I love Barbara!!! I have seen her on different trips and will be looking forward to finding her in September....I hope she is well and coming back!!! She makes me realize that I am not as old as I think I am!!!!
