I was supposed to be visiting WDW from 29 March. Clearly that isn’t happening, but Wales is coming slowly out of lockdown so I decided to squander some money on some new bbq equipment. I have a bbq hut.... basically a wooden cabin, with a central bbq and chimney. One of the things I bought is a cast iron Dutch oven. It has three legs and a lipped lid. I know the basics of how to use it, but does anyone have any recipes to share?

its bad about your wdw trip. I can’t help you but no one has answered your post it’s about to go to the second page so bumping it up maybe someone can help you.

Oh thank you, you are very kind. I have lost count of how many times the trip has been postponed already, but I now have December 2021/Christmas and Easter 2022 booked... sweaty hand firmly clasped around my AP. 🤞 Some very interesting Americans post YouTube vlogs about using a Dutch oven on a bbq. I need half a cow, a very long beard and a few beers it seems. 😂

Just don't use any kind of citrus- or vinegar-based marinade on meat you put in that dutch oven; acids will ruin it.

I would do a braised short rib with that set up, SO GOOD. There are many recipes on the internet but it's pretty simple and the main difference will be the sauce and you can find one to your taste. I had a port wine sauce and it was delicious.
