Cash?

Do you tend to take cash or use traveler's checks? I'm planning on taking about $500 with me and wasn't sure whether to bother with traveler's checks or just put the extra money in the room safe.

Of course, this may be a moot point -- it may be gone within the first 48 hours anyway!

I take mostly travelers checks and some cash(for tipping). I charge everything to room and every day or 2 pay it off with the TC's. I feel safer then with cash and I don't have to carry around and risk losing TC's.

I use a debit card when I travel. It's quick and you don't have to carry cash OR traveler's checks. You just have to keep a running total of what you're spending so you don't overdraw your bank account

I also put some money on a disney gift card or two before we leave so we don't have to worry about carrying so much cash. Their convienent to have and accepted anywhere in the park. They work on anything from a mickey bar right down to the hunderds of dollars worth of disney merch you're bound to be buying. Have fun!

I load my room key with my CC, and I use that (or another credit card). I find it easiest, and I just pay it off when I get home.

The other option is to use your room key, then, the day before you leave, check your balance and pay it off with whatever cash/checks you have.

You will need small amounts of cash, but you will be able to use your CC or KTTW card in most of WDW. We usually take $100 in cash per day...this is just for odds and ends mostly becasue we use our KTTW card almost everywhere. If you are staying off site you may need to have more cash on hand than you would if you are staying onsite.

We now take cash. We would take both, my DW made me carry the TCs and I would have to sign them. We use our KTTW for most stuff anyway.

We bring about $500 for the drive down and back for meals and extras.

I take very little cash. I use my debit card or a prepaid visa (I get money off gas for purchasing).

I take a mixture of cash and travlers checks. I always fold up one of the checks and stick it under my license or a photo so I have mad money just in case.

Cash, credit card and traveller's cheques. I'm always nervous to take all cash with my luck getting it stolen. At least with the TC they can be re-issued to us if stolen.
