Cash vs Credit vs Traveller's Cheques

Actually I was asked quite regularily for ID when using traveller's cheques on the last 2 trips.

In CA I get asked for ID with all credit card transactions also.

FTR I would fully expect to be asked for ID for a credit card transaction, or if I appeared to be over 16 when dealing with traveller's cheques depending on where I'm from. But to absolutely refuse to cash a traveller's cheque unless someone can produce ID that doesn't exist seems a little much. I just wanted to throw it out there in case someone was thinking of giving a preteen traveller's cheques anyways so that they would be aware the preteen may be required to show ID they might not have.

Hopefully I'm posting this in the right section!

What do all the Canadians do for $ while at Disney? I'm sure cash isn't the right option, but I'm not a fan of using the credit card and getting dinged for the service charge. How easily used are Traveller's Cheques? Is there another option I'm not thinking of?

Thanks!

We never use the CC and only use small ammts of cash if you lose cash or it gets stolen it is lost we use TC's if you lose those or they get stolen they are easily replaced and you aren't out that money. We use a small ammt of cash primarily for gas on our drive down and home other than that we take all our money via TC's. TC's are easy to use around the parks and resorts and in every outlet store and shopping centre we have ever been to in and around the Disney area and all the way down.

instead of travellers cheques, you can get a prepaid visa that is international and you don't pay any fees on. Works the same way as travelers cheques do if you lose them, but its a VISA card, so 99% of retailers and restaurants take them.
You get them at CAA travel stores

I talked to CAA about these as we thought about getting them for our kids we were told that each transaction had a fee attached to it there was also a fee to check balances and there was a fee to get it loadedand re loaded. I was told by the CAA rep that it was not a good option for traveling to the US but it was a good idea for overseas travel.
