Cash versus Points ressie

I called today to make a cash resservation for a Grand Villa at Diney Hilton Head in September. I was able to get Friday and Saturday night for $334.75 with my DVC discount. I asked about Thursday night which was also avalible for cash or points. It was 49 points or 334.75 cash. I decided to do the cash price as I could rent my points out for more when friends joing us at other times. I guess it concerns me that I can get a better deal on cash during the week (I can understand on the weekends...those points are so high) than with my points. I'm sure avaiblility during summer months would be an issue with cash.

I would be concerned too - I don't think any of the WDW DVC resorts give that much of a cash discount when compared to points.

Keep in mind that renting points involves your time. I don't see a scenario where the difference would be worth the effort. For me renting is the fallback if the points can not be used or banked.
