Cash rooms and waitlist??

I'm on the waitlist for a couple of days next month but I could book those waitlist nights with cash. Do they always do this? I assumed members had priority but apparently not. Do they ever dump these cash rooms back into the "points booking" (pardon the terminology but I'm sure you know what I mean) when the dates get closer? Also you automatically stay on the waitlis until 7 days out, what happens then?

Cash room are a separate booking then DVC. There are from members who have booked outside of DVC and have been dumped into CRO.

Yep, those villas are already reserved on points by the member who traded out to the DCL or a WDW or DL resort hotel. They can't be reserved a second time.

Wait lists automatically expire at 31 days unless you specifically request to stay on it after that. It never hurts to verify with MS that you are still on the waitlist after the 31 day mark if that is your intent.

At 7 days, all waitlists expire. At that point, if you still want something, then you must call and hope to catch a cancellation. Some members call several times a day if they are really motivated.

If cash rooms and not breakage inventory, they will sit empty rather than being used for points stays.
