No, it's not a new dish at the F&W festival!
I called MS today to add 3 more days onto our already 8 day stay for next summer. I inquired as to when they might have some inventory for DVC cash rental at the DVC discount at BCV (looking at August 2004). Our guests wanted to pay for a Sat night stay to add to our trip. I really didn't expect anything, so hence I was surprised when MS said they had 1 brs and studios at BCV available at the DVC rental discount price. That's 11 mos out. Unfortunately, we really wanted a 2br. MS said she could grab a 1 br and studio while they were available -- it would be pricier that a 2br at the discount ($510 versus $410), but at least $510 is better than $545, and she said she could set them up as a lock-off so at least they would be adjoining.
Now that was all a nice surprise. but I'm wondering about the possible other surprises -- like, if studio and 1 br aren't linked. And also -- if a DVCer has to stay in the discount room in order to get the discount, would that mean dh and I would have to part company and each sleep in one of the rooms (interesting.... though I'd love to see how BCV would enforce this -- a hall monitor to keep DVC folks in their discounted rooms??

I'll keep checking with MS to see if any 2 brs become available at the discount -- we have time to kill and she (MS) said we could keep on checking all the way up until about a week before our trip (there is a penalty if you try to change 6 days or less prior, but she also seemed to indicate that if it was for a change in room type, and that room type was available -- i.e., not just a cancellation -- it was probably doable without penalty). I have no intention of waiting until a week out, though!
Anybody else out there have any experience with this? Wonder why they released some studios and 1brs but no 2brs.... Are the 2brs always hard to get on a discount? Do they not release as many of these? Wonder if I should check at BWV to see if they have a "2br" for discount or if, since all their room are lockouts, they only have 1br and studios?
