Cash Reservation??

Hi, I booked a 1 bedroom for the BCV(Mon.-Mon.) the last week of July. I wanted a 2 bedroom and so I waitlisted for it. I booked Mon-Thurs.on points and Fri. and Sat. on cash and then Mon. on pts.I understood I was waitlisted the same way, pts.CASH, and pts. But I got a call today and was told NO waitlist for cash. The 2 bedroom had come thru on pts. for Fri., Sat., and Mon. So I take the Mon. on Pts. but tell them I wanted to pay cash for the Fri, and Sat.Well, I had a member discounted price of $292.50 no tax per nite on the 1 bedroom. The 2 bedroom jumped to $525. no discount available. I was told to keep calling daily and it may become available at the 25%off price for members?? Is this something anyone else has come across?? I have not paid on a cash basis for a few years with DVC, but when I did I always remember getting a discounted price for being a DVC member. Any insight would be helpful! Thanks, Joan

Try Disney's CRO, they might have rooms available.

They only make the member discount available if they anticipate the rooms will not be booked for points, they come from the member pool of points. If there are still empty rooms closer to the date, they may make it available. Also check with CRO if code or AP discounts come out. I got an OKW 1 bedroom for about 30% off for a Friday night in May with an AP rate. You do have to pay tax on the member rate. One thing I was wondering about - what about Sunday night? You mentioned points for Mon-Thurs, cash Fri, Sat and points Mon.

Sorry Debbie, I meant Sun. nite! I will try for the AP rate when/If they come out, I need the 30 and 31st of July. I just thought it was strange to have the one bedroom at a discount and not the 2-bedroom. But it is in July and they told me to call EVERYDAY to check if it has been discounted, so I will! thanks, Joan

I am a new DVC member, going home to Saratoga for the first time in September and I have a question about using cash for a reservation. Is the cash option open to DVC members only and why is it necessary if you can borrow points from the next year? Also, are there limits to the number of nights you can pay for with cash; can non DVC folks rent Saratoga for cash?

I've checked multiple times in the past 2 months about Member discounts for weekend nights for either a studio or a 1 BR at VWL, BCV, and OKW in April. Each time there has been limited availability. It certainly hasn't been automatic --- I've felt lucky to have some very good options.
