As we are waiting for both our resale contracts to close, which should be sometime in the next 7 business days, the more we read on these boards the more we realize we may not have access to our membership # or points soon enough to book a reservation starting on June 29th.... am I correct to think that?

In any case, we think we may need to go for a cash reservation and looking either at the Wilderness or Boardwalk, so my question is the DVC member discount. Is it 30% the rates posted in the walt disney world website? or where is this amount discounted from We are looking for a bedroom with 2 queen beds from June 29th to Jul 7 (8 nights) since we might not be able to go with our original plan of 1 bedroom at AKV for the same nights

Thanks!!!

The member discount is 25%, you can find rack rates on this website:

http://www.mousesavers.com/2014-disney-world-resort-room-rates-season-dates/

There might be better discounts on the WDW website and they include daily housekeeping (member discounted rooms do not).

As far as 2 queens, OKW is the only studio with 2 queens. Other resorts are 1 queen, 1 double sofabed. There are no 1 bedrooms with 2 queens, they are all 1 king and 1 queen sofabed in the living room, some have a twin sleeper chair (VWL and BWV do not).

Thank you so much! I would book a regular hotel room not a DVC room would the member discount still apply? If not I think we will go with the general public discount right now on the website that is 30% off posted rates

No, it only applies to DVC rooms. The discount is not always available, either.

You may get lucky with a DVC reservation, if you are willing to accept whatever resort is available. It may also include changing resorts and/or different sized rooms. Personally, I do not like split stays, but many enjoy them.

You may be able to do SSR in a 1 bedroom if you close soon and member services gets your info out promptly. AKV really doesn't have availability except a stray night here and there. Hope this helps with your decision. Also, I find the regular Disney special offers are usually better than the DVC discount.
