If you're not a DVC member can you make a cash reservation directly the HH somehow?

Via hubby's military benefits I found an offer for a 1 bdrm at DVC HH for $205 a night + 10% tax - we're staying at HH for a Fri/Sat night so point renting would be considerable more than that.

However I have learned int he past that not all offer are good deals- so can anyone tell if this is?

Non refundable 1 night deposit if I book thru them so I'd like to be sure first. :teeth:
thanks!

When is this reservation? If it's during the summer months, then I think you have an excellent rate. But if it's during a low season, it's not.

Try plugging your dates into Travelocity or a similar site and see what you get as the rate for a 1BR for your same dates. That should help you determine if you're getting a good deal or not.

During the busy season, we usually book Friday nights, and ALWAYS book Saturday nights on cash if it's available -- a 2BR is 99 points on Saturdays! I wish we had the points to go that far... ;)

Here are the full prices by season for a 1 bedroom at Hilton Head for 2006:
Jan 1-Mar 1 & Oct 29 - Dec 31 .............$155
Apr 23 - May 3 & Aug 27 - Oct 28..........$225
May 4 - May 31.....................................$270
Apr 6 - April 22 & June 1- Aug 26...........$380

A Member can often get a 25% discount, especially on weekends and sometimes there are annual pass discounts as well as Disney Credit Card discounts (usually in slow season - Jan - March), so, you can go from here and decide if it's worth it to you. If it's a summer offer, I'd say it's worth it.

Cash reservations can be made through CRO or through travel agents, Expedia etc.

Me too!! I need more HH points! We were there for Easter weekend, on our way back from Boardwalk. It was so nice to be there as usual. We're booked for week of July 4th and can't wait! Had Easter Brunch at Sunset Grill and it was excellent! Gordon had sent me there a couple of years back and now I go every trip for at least one meal.

It was for May 19th - 21st , but --- drats!--- room was already gone when I called in :sad2:

Thanks for the info all, I'll keep it for future reference :teeth: I can always keep trying :rolleyes1

I would definitely keep trying. May (prior to Memorial Day, anyhow) is usually a pretty slow time at the resort. And weekends are usually booked on cash more often, due to those pesky high points! As the dates get closer, if there are still vacancies, they may be more agreeable to letting the room go at a discount than leaving it empty.

Good luck!

Woot! :thumbsup2

Got a cash reservation thru Travelocity, same dates and prices :teeth:

I'm waiting til the last minute to cancel my other reservations at a Residence Inn tho - I'm scared this weekend in overbooked and I don't want to find out just yet I can't actually stay... I'll wait til I'm back from WDW before I face the potential disappointment :rotfl:

Wee!!!! WDW 4/30 - 5/6 then HH May 19-20th! I love vacations :woohoo:
