We are fairly new to DVC, so I'm sure this has been covered before....
Don't we get a discount on booking a cash reservation at a DVC Resort? And how do I book the reservation? Do I have to call through DVC Member Services? I tried through the regular reservation line and they said they had no idea what I was talking about.
Or maybe I am totally WRONG!? :confused3
Thanks!!!
(I am trying to add on a night (cash) to an existing DVC reservation with points at HHI)

Call DVC Member Services, but I think that one now has to pay a deposit of some sort.

Yep, call MS and you get the 25% members discount "when availible".

Yes, you do have to call member services, and they will give you a cash rate for that hotel.... perhaps with their new system, you may have to put a deposit down, but I have never had to in the past.

With the new system you have to pay for one night when you reserve.

You may want to also check CRO. They frequently offer 40% off on DVC resorts. It cannot be linked to a points reservation but for a substantial discount it might be worth the risk of changing rooms.

HHI is small enough that they may be able to "join" the reservations, unless it's summer and really busy. I had a points stay last year and added a couple of nights under the Visa special, and I didn't even ask about combining them in advance, but they had done that already when I checked in. However, it was mid-Nov and not very busy.
