What cs and retail spots are cash only? I am curious about any places in the parks, resorts, water parks, mini-golf and DTD too.

Trying to budget for real money versus the charge to the KTTW card.

Thanks :)

I can't even think of one place I couldn't use the card.... even the snack carts take them.

Tips for hotel personnel (luggage, etc...) need cash.

Other than that I don't think I used cash at all on the last trip.

It's always good to have a little cash on hand. During our trip last June, there was some glitch going on while we were at MK, so every place was only taking cash for about 1/2 hr. Fortunately the kids had some Disney Dollars, so we were able to get our Dole Whips, but the group ahead of us was on the DDP and didn't have any cash. One guy got kind of irrate about it.

darn dial-up :badpc:

But I thought I read that the some of the kiosks on the Boardwalk do not take the KTTW card and someplace in a waterpark requires cash.

I cannot make the search work - sorry.

At the waterparks, I believe it's the cocktail kiosks. I remember DH remarking on how someone's pina colada looked good, but I'd already spent all our cash at the mini donut stand, so he was outta luck. :lmao:

We only use cash for tips, tolls from the airport and lunch at the airport on the way home.

There is a place in France that sells drinks-champagne, Grey Goose slush, etc. that is cash only.

there was a popcorn stand in Epcot just around or past Mexico that used only cash if I remeber correctly.

There are MANY carts/kiosks in Epcot that are cash only. I know this because we went there without any cash one day - zero, zippo, not one dollar, and there were several places where we couldn't purchase anything. It was very frustrating. I would guess that the other parks are like this as well. I don't know this for sure, because we never made that mistake again, and I don't recall how we paid for things in the other parks....

To be on the safe side, I would always bring SOME cash. I think all CS places accept other forms of payment, but snack carts and kiosks are iffy.

There was a coffee stand in Epcot just outside of Ellen's ride that only took cash. Luckily, I had $10 tucked into my lanyard because I was dying for something caffinated - even if it did taste like the typical Disney sludge...
