Cash nights and pts. for others question

We're wanting to stay at VWL in Jan. and use pts. for a 2 bdrm. We will be paying cash for 2 of the nights. My question is: if I can't get a member discount through member services, can I make one through CRO with my DC card and get a discount and the reservations be linked? I don't want to have to move the 2 nights when we'd have the same type of accomodations. Can I contact the resort ahead of time and not have to move? Thanks.

You should be able to arrange this, but it is not guaranteed. One thing to watch for - VWL has both dedicated and lockoff 2 bedrooms, make sure both reservations are for the same.

In the past, MS has indicated a willingness to match discounts such as DC and AP for cash reservations. If you find a rate thru DC- I'd make the ressie and then call MS to see if they will switch (or remake) the reservation for you and link it right then- that way you won't experience any problem with a possible move.
