Hello all!

We are frequent Disneyland visitors , but this year I just discovered the Amazon card with no transaction fees. So we decided to use the card for everything for our upcoming trip.

That being said I know I'll still need some cash for places that don't take credit (coffee stands, churros, etc).
How much would you take for 5 days in the park for 4 people?

Its tough to say for sure but we went to WDW recently, and I calculated how much I would need for tips (luggage, restaurant, etc..) There were 3 of us, so I took another hundred just for the odd snack here and there.... The rest I put on my Amazon Visa.

For 3 of us, for 10 days staying onsite at WDW, I had $600 U.S., and after all the tipping and a few places that we couldnt use credit cards, I came back with $45 .... I'm not sure if that information is super helpful to you or not.

If you are truly just using it for snack stands, I would guess around $10/person per day. Now if you are using it for tips, snacks and those silly odds and ends I'd up it to around $20/person. I usually take around $300 cash for a 6 day trip for myself and my grown son. He also has some cash. We rarely buy snacks since we rarely snack between meals so I tend to use it for tips, some meals I'm just too lazy to pull my cc out for and just the odds expense here and there.

For 3 people for a 5 day trip I usually have around $200 US cash and that seems like a good amount. We put almost everything on our Amazon Visa.

If you are a WDW guest you don't need cash, you can charge everything to your MB which will charge everything to the CC you put on file.

We brought $200 for two people for ten days.

We came home with $140. That includes using cash for bell services, twice, and a $10 donation to the church we attended while we were there. The rest was for the little stuff.

You still need to carry some cash for those times when the scanners aren't working, for the kiosks that only take cash, tips for bell services, snacks in the airport ... we rarely go without at least a $20.00 in our pockets and a credit card, we don't want to get caught short. When it gets to the end of our trip if we have more than $100.00, we go to the front desk and apply it to our account the night before check-out.

So there isn't a way to charge stuff to the room at Disneyland? Ouch, that would really put a damper on my vacation.

You can charge stuff to your room but not everywhere. There are some places that do not take credit cards and those places also do not have room charging ability.(AFAI Remember)

I usually just take my change jar to the bank and whatever it comes to in US$ is what we take. Usually between $200-$300. About all we use the cash for is tipping DME drivers, housekeeping tips, coffee/meals at connecting airports, and some gratuities if we've got free dining or such. Everything else is on the MB/CC.

Thanks everyone.

It sounds like $200-$300 will be sufficient.

Normally we charge everything to our room but pay with cash at the end of our stay. And we bring about $100 to the park per day. But because we used all cash I never really kept track of how much we spent on cash only kiosks and tipping.

Thank you all!
