Cash Duck Closing

I know many people have not been using Cash Duck lately. I wasn't around during the "good ole days" of GPTs, so I was really happy with Cash Duck this last month. I hate to see it go. I have a pending trouble ticket, I guess Ican kiss that $10.00 goodbye. Other than that, all my offers credits, except a few small ones. I just logged on to find the following message:

Unfortunately, I have a sad announcement to make. As of the end of this month, CashDuck will be closing.

This is a decision that I did not want to make, and even two weeks ago said that I didn't want to close. But the way things have been going, I feel like if CashDuck continues to run that things are unlikely to improve. Since the implementation of the new payout rules, traffic has really dwindled. So far this month all of the users of CashDuck combined have not earned what they did in an average DAY of April or May. I really wanted to give the shopping section some time, but I am losing money and new obstacles are thrown up every day.

I have had such a wonderful experience running CashDuck and it has changed me as a person. I've learned a LOT, and in fact partially due to my experience with CashDuck I will be applying for an MBA program. I am excited about potentially exploring other business ideas in the future. I know though that no business will last forever, and it is best now to end on a good note, instead of waiting until there is nothing left.

Thank you everyone for your support and encouragement. I have met many wonderful people and I consider myself enriched by you all.

In practical matters:

All offers will be deactivated on August 15th. Please make your cashouts during August. All cashouts requested during August will be paid during mid-September. On September 2nd, withdraws will be deactivated. To facilitate cashouts, the minimum withdraw for a check has been lowered to $5.

that is so sad that a great site like Cd is closing. I really liked Cd and Mostly Kira. She's always been so upfront and honest with us.

Let's give her the glory of one more day like those back in may. If you could, please everyone, click a few on Cd that you haven't tried else where. Let's show our support for the site she built and the friends she made through cash duck.

This really saddens me to see her closing shop but I wish her the best in everything that she meets in her journey of Life. Without Cd, I would have never made my personal goals in gettting my children to WDW this year.

That is too bad. I know the "rules" have changed alot in the last couple months. Hopefully other reward sites won't have to do the same. My main site is SR and I also do QR. But I did CD and earned $300 a few months back. I am trying to weed down my sites because of the new rules. I am so afraid I will accidentally do a signup more than once that it has been easier to just stick with SR & QR. I figured some sites would eventually have to close because of all the changes. Too bad. Kira was good site owner.

Wah!!!! I've only done cashduck! I've got about $15 in there right now and about 81 feathers. What should I do with the feathers? I've never been a big money maker on there. This was my first gpt site. I only made $75 last month, but I was happy with that. So, two questions, what should I do with my 81 feathers? And can someone direct me to another gpt site that's as easy to navigate as Kiras? Ok, 3 questions, I have $20 in my simonaccount, is there a gpt site that I can use this with?

I'm very sad about it. A lot of other sites that I liked like RockHardCash and Hooray Money also closed recently.

I hope Swatcash, DealBarbiePays and some others that I still do stick around.

I'm sad to hear that Kira felt the need to close CD. It has really been a huge swing for her over the past few months. I was hoping that she would be able to make it thru everything going on but I guess it was just too much. I know that I haven't been giving CD the traffic I used to and I imagine there are others doing the same.


As for your feathers, I would cash them in for $5 Disney Dollars. I just recieved a feathers prize from Kira last week. It really sounds as if she is going to honor the cashouts still in the "bank" at CD so I would put in for it ASAP. As for your Simon account, I would just use that money at the grocery store or somewhere. The days of offers accepting pre=paid cards seem to be long gone!

In terms of looking for a new program, I can't recommend Sunshine Rewards (SR) enough! All along SR has been run diferently than the other GPT sites and I think that is what has helped it survive all the shake-ups. Sure it is set up differently than other GPTs but, in a way, that is what makes it special. If you aren't already signed up at SR, you should check it out!

I had the pleasure of meeting kira at the Affiliate Summit and she is such a nice person. Sorry it didn't work out for her, I know its been rough, and the ride isn't over yet for the GPT sites. Good luck to her in the future.

WOW is about all I can say. But not surprised!!

I know I thought that she would shut down before the end of the year so that she didn't have to pay out the big prizes at the end of the year. It is too bad...but lucky for me I found a site that is better then CD so I will recover, though I feel for her, but it is better to leave before it is rock bottom!!

We all have to be thankful for CD because many of us made some really good $$ on there...wish that it stayed like that!

I am SO BUMMED!

I just discovered GPT sites LAST MONTH (you guys were so helpful)! ...and I earned over $100 last month w/Kira & CD! That's how I was able to get my new digital SLR!

I haven't done anything this month because it's summer, and my kids are ALWAYS around!

I was waiting until NEXT WEEK to hit it big time again because they would be back in school. My 7YO is always asking me if I've done any more "surveys" because he wants a PSP!

I've only been doing the QR daily e-mails, and that's earned me about $15 so far, but CD had to be, at least in my little opinion, the best laid out (very easy to navigate and read) and easiest to navigate!

I am really, really bummed! I, too, had three non-credit offers in my file--big ones...darn it!

I have 57 feathers. I didn't know you could get Disney Dollars for your feathers; I'll have to look into that.

Man, I am bummed. I was hoping it would only be low for the summer.

I earned about $60 on SwatCash this month, but I had 3 big offers on their noncredit too. When I e-mailed them about it (they don't have a noncredit form like Kira), they said they'd look into it, and then all my pending offers disappeared!

So, I may never see those offers again!

It becomes really hard to keep up with what offers you did and where. By doing too many sites, you really run the risk of getting banned from one or all. I have just been focusing on SR recently. I did earn a bunch of $$$ on CD a few months ago but I haven't done much over there recently as all the shake-ups were going on. I had a fear that CD would fall much like the others because of the likliehood of fraud over there. I have also done QR and Fusion Cash but I really like SR so much better.

At SR, daily surveys can easily earn you at least $20 a month just for a few minutes of your time. There are also usually several offers that don't require any $ on your end that can add some nice extra money to your account!

You are VERY right on this...I am focusing on SR and DBP and lately I have had GREAT luck with both!

Exactly what I was thinking....I only did two sites, and now, one is closing.

I'm going to do a few more CD offers today to bump up my feathers to the 75 feathers needed for gift cards, and maybe get my check amount up to the $5 payout, but then, it's done there. So sad....

I've been doing QR, but I've been dabbling in SR--those will probably be the two I look at the most, but I may check out Barbie too....

You have to be METICULOUS when doing these sites--keep copies, make a spreadsheet, anything to protect yourself!

sorry to hear this - I think Kira put alot of time and effort into CashDuck. She seems like a very entrepreneurial woman, I hope the next idea works out for her.

A good rule of thumb is the old adage that if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. If you are making too much money too fast, I would be a little bit worried about the site. Either they are paying out more than what they can really sustain, or they are doing something with the offers that they should not be.

The GPT industry reached such a frenzied height of paying out almost everything that we were making for the offers. At that point, how can you sustain a business? Add to that the fact that it was encouraging people to sign up for things multiple times and you had a big bubble burst.

Competition is good, but market saturation is actually bad. I'm sure that we haven't seen the last of Kira. Just not in a GPT way.

Cashduck was a very good program to me. I have earned over $700 in the 4 months that I have been a member. I will be sad to see the program go but all good things must come to an end even in the reward program world. I'm sure this won't be the last excellent program closing.
